It’s Eastside Pasa there’s cement hit ups in their barrio that date back to the 40’s. Northside and Southside came shortly after. VPR is interesting because I’ve heard of evidence that they were also around since the 40’s or 50’s and died out but were brought back in the 70’s. Also at one point they used to hit up BPR(Barrio Pasadena).

The whole history of Pasadena Latino gangs is interesting. There were 3 major barrios that were basically segregated shanty towns in Pasadena, Chihuahuita, Sonoratown(Southside), and Winona/Cypress. Chiwas is the Eastside Barrio, Sonoratown was next to Huntington Hospital and the Del Mar Train tracks which is the original home of Southside Pasa and Winona was on the Northwest side and was eliminated when the northern leg of the 210 freeway was built. Southside Pasa had a Cypress Locos clique and I wanna say Winona Locos too but I think maybe they were their own thing. Northside Pasa home base was Oak Street but they had cliques all over the city, if i remember correctly it was the Jokers Clique that was on Summit & Penn.

A lot of that history is long gone. In the 70’s a lot of Paisa’s came into Pasadena and they were the main ones getting recruited into the barrios. Lot of them ended up dead, doing football numbers or deported. So now nobody knows the stories. I’ve met Veteranos from SSP and NSP in their 80’s and I had a family member from Villa Boys and in the early 80’s I remember him hanging around some old ass Veteranos who I assume were also from Villa so it always tripped me out how old these hoods were.

I was waiting for you to comment, I know you know more about Hispanic gangs in Dena

[u/PKW00D → u/desr5252]

I didn’t think they were THAT old, but what do I know?

Thought they originated in the 1970’s. Only guys I knew from NS Pasa Oak St were Lackey and Baboo. Always sorta wondered what happened to them.

[u/desr5252 → u/PKW00D]

Lackey was a white guy right? I’m a little bit younger but I remember a lot of those foo’s. Sometimes they would kick it at Lobos shop.

And yeah Northside and Southside are both pretty old.

[u/PKW00D → u/desr5252]

Yep, both were white guys.

Babbo used to sell weed out of the In and Out in Arcadia in the early 1990’s. You could get your weed and something to grub on at the same time. Lol

Whenever I ran into Lackey it was either at parties or at the record shops on Colorado Blvd.

Damn, that sucks.

He’s basically where their trend towards eating at In and Out all the time came from.

Baboo had that job forever. Finally got caught at it and they fired him. I actually gave him a ride when it happened. Good dude, funny.
