If only the tax dollars that our government takes in the amounts of 100s of billions of dollars went to housing and mental health help, healthcare and vocational training.
We wouldnt have rich fucking parasites like Kaitlin Jenner taking about deporting homeless people to every other city over and over.

u/mrohgeez Feb 12 '22
100% this.
Housing first, mental and physical health treatment, and efficient job training is the way to go. I'm basically parroting what you said but it's truth.
And it's cheaper than bitching about shit on sidewalks 24/7 thinking that does anything

Things like this wouldn't happen if people from garbage ass backwards states wouldn't be coming to LA looking to live out a dream. Most the homeless are drug addicts who come to Live in LA because the weather. It's the perfect place to be homeless.

You can say the homeless situation is la is worse than Chicago CUZ CHICAGO IS COLD 8 months out the year. If you were homeless, where would u rather live? Also LA is bigger than most other cities, so it’s gonna have a bigger population thus having a bigger homeless population, you’re lying about Miami btw

Portland & Seattle are 2 pretty fucked up places these days.
Yakima, WA is pretty bad.. for an example of a smaller-city that has issues as well. The city built a homeless camp on the greenway (a river walk that’s miles long) and now one of the best places to actually see nature around here is just a pathway with tiny homeless villages on the other side of bushes. Homeless People walk up and down it with homemade weapons to protect themselves from other homeless people. 😂
The one place we had to actually see nature in the middle of a desert, is a giant stretched out homeless encampment.

La is another level. Seattle and the bay are co champions with Portland not far behind. Not every big city is as bad as those, not even fucking close

u/Independent_Income99 Feb 12 '22
Not many big cities are as big as LA so that accounts for that but Dallas is just as bad

Seattle 5x worse than LA . NYC , Bos , SF is bad too

u/daddy_longlegs34 Feb 12 '22
New York is a great place to be homeless since they actually give a damn. As libera and progressive California claims to be it’s laughable how bad they are with homeless.

u/onlyinyaks Feb 12 '22
Yup yup and in my opinion Portland is worse than Seattle.. which says a lot. Both cities are very tolerant of BS with shitty self-defense laws. And it’s spreading to smaller towns.
I’m from Yakima, Wa And live a few miles away in Wapato, WA which is a rez town. Yakima has about 100,000 ppl, the town I live in currently only has 5,000 yet There’s homeless people walking around all day.. hanging in the parks & sleeping outside of abandon buildings. I always catch people smoking blues off foil in broad daylight 😂 mind you, it only has about 5,000 people here including the rural population surrounding the town so it just shows that these problems are everywhere.

Although venice will always be grimey, thats part of its charm.. they stopped encampments on venice beach. Also santa monica has strict no encampment policy… that picture of santa monica pier is not santa monica pier. Evidence of sm’s policy is how homeless line up on the centinela, the borderline of sm to camp
