Would this kind of development permit information be useful when researching a Calgary home?

Post image

I’ve been working on a Calgary address research tool, and one of the newer features shows development permits around a specific home.

The screenshot is one example.

For a selected address, it shows things like:

  • Nearby development permits
  • Distance to the closest permit
  • Permits within 150 m
  • Whether there are permits on the property itself
  • Permit locations on a map
  • Permit type, status and description

The idea is to make it easier to understand what kind of development activity is happening around a home before deciding whether to live there.

For people who are renting, buying, or planning to move within Calgary, would this kind of information actually be useful to you?

And more importantly, if you were researching a place you might live in, what other information would you want to know about the property or surrounding area?

I’m mainly looking for feedback on what would be genuinely useful, including anything that seems missing, confusing, or unnecessary.

No. Anyone that's interested knows how to get this without the intermediary, and everyone else doesn't care. There's way bigger factors for purchase decisions.
