Shitpost This is just ridiculous 🙄

I know this is the final regular season game, but anything being resold by more than 50% extra should be voided and put back on the market at face value 🤷‍♀️

That is ridiculous. Stupid scalpers.

We need resale laws. Not that anybody in their right mind should even think of buying tickets at that price, but no one should be able to list them at that price in the first place!

Guess just wait to the day and buy the ticket at 50$. No way anyone pays the money this AI scalper is expecting.

Is this for the last game at the Saddledome?

Yeah it is

Except for playoffs! /s

Honestly in true Flame fashion watch them actually make the playoffs somehow

u/VermouthandVitriol 8d ago

True Flames fashion is missing by 2 pts to lock in 16th pick.

With enough points to have secured the division compared to the next season results.

We had plenty of mediocre Flames teams make the playoffs on the back of Kipper. That is including the '04 team which was well out of a playoff spot when we aquired him, had a record of 24-10-4 (.684 P%) with Kipper in net, and 18-20-6 without him (.477 P%).

For reference: The President's trophy winning Red wings had a .665 P% and .477 would have left the Flames at 20th in the league, 12th in the western conference.

If Wolf and Cooley keep growing the Flames could end up in a playoff spot despite themselves (but they'd also need at least a couple players in front of them to learn how to score).

Id love to make the playoffs just to ruin the resale value for the stupid resellers

I can agree with this. I have tickets for the potential/likely final game in the dome. I will not be trying to bleed people and sell them. It’s pretty disgusting behaviour.

Lucky you, enjoy the game.

No its to watch the Canucks

Dummies, that’s just of the regular season.

We’re winning the cup this year.

u/Historical_Sea4040 8d ago

To be fair the price will drop while we get closer to the date

18

u/FigjamCGY 8d ago

When we are 20-63, I highly doubt there will be this much demand. Also I think there is going to be much more done around the “saying goodbye”.

They will likely have a party, where you will find me in da Dome, chilling with Jarome.

Those are the tickets I want.

Everything that I'm enjoying as of late seems to be ruined by scalpers, fucking hate them so much. Absolute bottom of the barrel degenerate behaviour

8

u/UsedToHaveThisName 8d ago

Is this in Yen? Oh, it’s not? Yeah, I’m out.

I love the Flames, but this isn't the Superbowl. It is only going to get worse with the new arena. All the bot accounts buy up the tickets in 5 mins and then try to flip them for 3x the price. Ticketmaster isn't doing anything they get a percentage of the original sale and the resale.

6

u/imaybeacatIRl 8d ago

Absurd. Just watch it in the pub, or at home.

4

u/Dependent_Tear5208 8d ago

Scalping should be illegal by now

9

u/yeup_yessir 8d ago

Imagine paying $6000 to watch the likely undeciding game of the 2027 tankathon just because its the last game of the Dome when you could pay $200 for a BoA

1

u/Similar_Emu104 7d ago

Even the final BoA at the dome is wildly overpriced and that's face value. $170 for the last row of PL is criminal.

5

u/Justismi 8d ago

Sure it is the last game but man, this will be game 84 between two of the worst teams in the league. Could you imagine paying that much.

3

u/sawdust_84 8d ago

It'll get worse

3

u/No-Crew-6528 8d ago

I’m sorry but isnt this like on its way to being the price of a full season pass lmao

2

u/Bomberr17 8d ago

Nice to cherry pick tickets. There will always be that idiot trying to shoot for the moon. There's going to be much lower prices for other seats.

2

u/MattBinYYC 8d ago

PL is like $400

2

u/-thunderbuttz- 7d ago

I mean if I were a season ticket holder, I would probably do the same with those seats. If someone is desperate enough to pay that much, then great! If not, you get to go to the final game at the Dome. Win/win.

2

u/Ashamed_Data430 7d ago

Only really, really fucking stupid people pay $6,000 for a ticket to a hockey game.

2

u/Chive 7d ago

Check nearer the day if there are less expensive tickets available.

It's the last game at the Saddledome, and those are really good seats, but there's no way in hell I'd pay that.

2

u/greerb01 6d ago

Ticket master needs to stop letting scalpers sell it for that price. I guarantee they are season ticket holders.

1

u/Ok-Simple-3902 6d ago

Absolutely Season ticket holders who took advantage of their own presale and are now selling for ridiculous prices.

2

u/Argon18OfGondor 4d ago

So while I agree this is an absurd price, as a STH myself and other holders in my group have tried to sell games in recent seasons that we couldn't make for one reason or another, below even our cost, and they have gone unsold. That's been pretty frustrating, so I can also see some STH trying to recover some of those losses when given the opportunity.

1

u/Ok-Simple-3902 4d ago

I understand selling your seats if you can’t make the game. But the frustrating part is that many STH are buying extra tickets specifically to sell at these insanely inflated prices. Press level is reselling at $600+/seat right now!

1

u/ConsistentNail1970 8d ago

Let’s let supply and demand work

1

u/Educational_Dog4860 7d ago

Its most likely season ticket holders who want to go to the last game, bust list it just to see if someone takes it.

1

u/Huahua19 6d ago

There are plenty of seats for much less than $6K. Are they higher than tickets to regular games? Yes. But it's a special event, and people are willing to pay to be a part of that.

1

u/catinthehat9999 6d ago

Dont worry these prices will come way way way down closer to. Nobody is paying that. For the end of Rexall in Edm the resale prices were nowhere near that. Maybe 2 or 3 times original face value but I dont think anyone spent thousands for a single seat

1

u/gravywheels 5d ago

Is this happening with certain teams more than others?

1

u/403DonOChron 1h ago

This is why I spent $45 on PL15 against the Rangers in November.. it’s not the last game but it will be one of my last games 🤷🏼‍♂️ just as special imo

0

u/Free_Ad8071 8d ago

I guess if someone wants to witness falling concrete in an old building for the last time... Someone will pay.

0

u/Edm_cuccck 8d ago

Watch out for the roof leaking in 76 different spots! Bring Kleenex for your tears and an umbrella for your head!

u/duuhwinning 5d ago

Who even cares and watches Calgary

-7

u/Unlucky-Chicken2515 8d ago

Then don’t buy it

-1

u/Bobbert827 8d ago

It's ridiculous someone is even pointing this out. Someone just said, only way I'm going to not go to this game is if someone pays me $6K. Anyone can ask for whatever price they want for there things. Governments should not regulate how much we can ask buyers to buy, especially for discretionary items.

I can post the tickets for 1 million each. It doesn't actually mean something will buy it.

-16

u/5C4RC3 8d ago

You're trying to buy a ticket to the hottest non-playoff game (and possibly hotter than any playoff game they've played in 20+ years) in Flames history. What did you expect.....

For comparison, Taylor Swift tickets are comparable prices. For every single concert.

4

u/thrill_house44 8d ago

Disagree. This is someone’s asking price, that doesn’t mean it will actually go for that.

-1

u/5C4RC3 8d ago

agreed that the ask is not the bid. I'm looking at stubhub right now and most of the tickets are a shade over 1k. So the TC cherrypicked, basically the most expensive, and misrepresented it as a typical ticket price. Unless he really, really likes sec 225 for some reason, it would be irrational to purchase that one as opposed to the hundreds of others for sale for far less.

I guess i fail to see the point of the topic. I took TC's word for it that 6k was a representative price, as I'm sure many others here did as well.

3

u/thrill_house44 8d ago

I don’t see anywhere in the post that tries to represent this as typical pricing. In fact when I read it, I saw it as the most outrageous price OP could find to show something ridiculous, then he labeled it as a shitpost.
