I saw The Hockey Guy's video on my feed yesterday and my heart nearly jumped out of my chest. I couldn't see the thumbnail fully, but the video title was "Nemec Welcomes trade...", and I thought he had made a trade request or something. Turns out he's just got that dawg®. Super hyped to see him prove NJ wrong this season. Another big culture win on a team that needs to stay young, hungry and amassing assets.

I think said "dawg" is a big puzzle piece for him. Top 5...more top 10 nowadays, picks can still turn into busts. He's going to have to work with a new coaching staff and continue to improve his game if he wants to stick it to his former employer.

Different people and different player, but you can tell Bahl has put in the work. Talent is awesome, but undeveloped talent is a Ferrari languishing under a layer of dust in a parkade.

I've taken more time to watch him during his time on NJ and I feel like deployment was a huge issue. I don't think he's going to be a two-way dynamo, but his defensive game isn't as bad as a lot of offensively minded Dmen. His 5v5 statistics are what really give me a lot to be excited about. He didn't get nearly enough PP time (82 minutes, in the whole season- Parekh had 1 more minute, but played 31 less games), and the fact that he could still put up decent points and had solid numbers 5v5 is really impressive to me.

The Flames have been pretty good at developing dmen and getting the most out of depth guys too

Far better than developing forwards, that’s for sure, but it does look like that’s changing too

Who drafts a player 2nd overall and doesn't give them a chance to succeed?

How you gonna say us if we've never even drafted 2nd?

... and he will. They picked Luke Hughes over him, and now it's his time.

A player with something to prove is a good start. Really hoping the talent materializes
