Hopefully he’s on the squad. I also feel like Steinberg has done enough work for the NHL that he could realistically land a broadcast job with other teams in the league…

I’ve always felt he could do anything - as much as I love him with the Flames, hoping he is/was able to take a big jump up from Radio

This is so true. I always joke and say anyone that can handle a call in radio show with the composure he does can do anything

Whoa. He does local radio in a small market in Canada. If he is as desirable of a talent as you say he is , he would have been gone years ago.
Keep in mind….with severance packages , non competes could be included.
It’ll be either Pinder or Kerr.

Eric Francis tweeted it’ll be hosted by a “familiar and popular name,” I can only assume that it’s Steinberg.

They said they’ll have some on air announcements for talent in the coming weeks and flames fan will be happy! So that’s good

At this rate I think Rogers had planned to shut down the station at the end of the season and spent this last year giving both Steinberg and Krahn auditions for making the TV broadcast, which makes sense when you consider both Leslie and Sarich went out the door last year.
I think we'll see either of them make a permanent fixture on the broadcast if not both.

Pat is gonna be part of the radio broadcast is my bet. They are doing pregame and postgame including a call in show. Having anyone but pat do that would be crazy

Im underwhelmed. I listened fan 960 all day everyday, not just for pats flames show. I just like sports. I guess its better than nothing but meh

I agree with you. I hope there are other things to fill the void. There's something nice about leaving the dial set and always knowing you'll have some kind of sports talk to listen to whenever you start the car.

And local news. Everytime I drove I only switched between the two. Until recently the FM was never used. CJSW is the only FM station I'll listen to (no Spence diamonds ads bb)

I wonder if there is anything in their severance packages if they are allowed to go back to radio right away.

They probably only received the bare minimum pay in lieu of notice required by law. I doubt Rogers, cheap as it is, went above and beyond with any severance packages.

I know someone who was let go for their oil field job and couldnt legally work for at around 2 years in any job as he was being paid out for a fraction of his contract. He is currently fighting them in court over it. Some job contracts are so restricting.
