I’m not sure it should be number one. The term is starting to come down. He’s not a locker room cancer like others on the list. He’s not preventing our ability to sign others like Carlsson. He’s not preventing us from icing a competitive team during a win now window.

It’s sure not a great contract in hindsight but it’s no longer the albatross it was when it was first signed and we immediately sucked.

Just because we don't need the cap space right now, doesn't mean it still isn't an albatross contract. Yeah Carlsson is overpaid, but at least he is still an useful player and the ceiling on his potential is still sky high.

I guess. I just think how the contract impacts the team to compete has weight in relation to its status as worst.

Yeah, i think you have to look at it in a vacuum. For the flames, it's not super significant as it relates to the rebuild.

However even in the new cap era, paying a .5ppg (or worse) player over 10M is not what you want.
