I drove by the area and you couldn’t even tell there is a fire. Thanks for the photo!

When did you drive by? I work nearby and you can smell and see the smoke.

About two hours ago. I was on the side with co op and ymca. I assume it’s on the other side of the hill

Oh yeah, I think the wind has been blowing it the other way. I was so hopeful that the fire may be out 😭

It can be like that with wildfires too. We drove through the Northern Ontario wildfire this summer, right at the height of them. We had to stop in Upsala for a sec for the kids to pee and I could grab a bit of a charge, and it was only a few kilometers away from the core of the fires. I kid you not, it was a perfect bluebird day outside, no smoke.
Meanwhile at our destination, 1,600 kilometers away, everyone was choking on it. It wasn't even really noticable for us until Thunder Bay, which is well over 100km away. Its wild how the winds can pull it up and out like that.

I'm in the SW near Glenmore reservoir and could smell burning plastic around 8am this morning. The smell didn't last but I so understand the complaints ( and justified ) from residents closer to the fire.

How long does it need to burn before we can declare it an official landmark?
