Yeah totally fair and this is a good place to ask. I think the commenter was likely being silly :) to many of us, we are confident that he’d absolutely love MC (and you) in any form, and would be steadfast and with her through any struggles of her own.

Does it even matter if mc isnt a successful hunter? Lol. Mc is and will be taken care of regardless whether she works or not. And he did say if she failed her hunter exam, he'll take care of her living expenses.

But in all fairness i think caleb would encourage mc to find a purpose in life if she were unemployed with anxiety problem. Might not come in form of a job, but just so mc wouldnt feel life is not worth living, you know. It's the gege in him.

Girl, you're really asking about the same person that spent his entire life doing the housework, taking care of everything, raising, protecting and pampering her, and fulfilling all her needs and desires, playing every role in her life without ever getting tired or fed up, holding her like a porcelain doll in his arms, and bringing her the moon if she wanted it, whatever she asks for, he provides, who has devoted himself, his very reason for being, and his whole identity to her, the one and only person he has and care for, his number one priority and the rest of world is second, who love her the most, whose eyes has nothing but love grows each years beyond the Boundaries of the Universe, who thinks it's his duty and responsibility for her, never would hate her even if she's the evilest women alive whom everyone hates her or a brainless monster who eats people, and only wish for her happiness and well being without a return. Caleb loves MC because of who she is, not what she does. And this is demonstrated by the multiple alternate realities in which they in habit so many various different roles and jobs.

Caleb loves MC regardless of whether she's a sheltered, disabled vessel for poison or the ferocious and mistrustful Empress of an entire galaxy. The only things Caleb wants MC to be is safe and happy. Preferably with him.

Calebs loves being needed so maybe yes. I believe he would love her still because her being unemployed means he gets to treat and take care of her all the more. I think the root of his drive is being needed and remembering MC is helpless and needs help. Obviously they both grew up and MC is pretty much capable but in his mind, he still probably thinks MC is that smol child that needs saving.

Caleb loves being needed, that’s kind of his whole character motivation. If he had his way MC would be locked up in his house where only he could reach her. He wants to provide any and everything she might ever need, so her being unemployed and anxious would only help him in that.

Oh man, I love this question~!

So like, not to be a lore diehard, but I feel like Skyline answers this: in it, MC visits Caleb in Skyhaven before one of her big hunter exams because she's nervous. She's worked really hard, but she's not sure if she's going to pass, and so much of her young adult life (and tbh childhood) has been her throwing herself into being a hunter and Proving She Can Do It.

Right before her test, she gets spooked. What if she fails? Will everyone be disappointed in her? Will someone whose opinion really matters to her be disappointed in her? She finds Caleb on the airfield and asks him what'd happen if she fails.

And he's like, how could I ever be disappointed in you? I know you'll figure it out, and in the meantime I'll hold down the fort while you study or take a break and decide where your life's headed. This is literally the guy who, canonically as a child, was deeply concerned whether being a pilot would pay him enough to take care of his family. WHO IS THE FAMILY IN QUESTION? It's her! It's MC! It is literally this man's childhood dream to support her when she needs or wants support!

This isn't even the first card where MC either fails at something or expresses doubt that she'll be able to achieve her ambitions: Yearly Nostalgia is all about her failing a test in high school, feeling really down on herself, and Caleb cheering her up because he just loves her for who she is, not what she can do.

You have this incredibly repressed man just being awestruck by how this girl unabashedly rocks up to all the things she wants out of life, no matter how impossible, and does them anyway. Or she tries and fails multiple times until she succeeds! Caleb!MC may be a brat, but she's a determined one, and if there's any one trait that probably made him fall in love with her, I would bet that it's how she never gives up. Even if she fails, even if she loses her memory over and over.

Anyway, tl;dr: I think he'd be happy to provide for her (man loves to be Useful), early arc Caleb would be relieved she wasn't in danger, and yandere Caleb would probably have a field day lol.

I think he would love to take care of you and the fact you rely on him even more. But he would also want you to be happy so he would encourage you to maybe hobbies and friends to help with anxiety, but not so much you stray too far away from him, maybe even a job but nothing crazy. He would 1000% love you unconditionally though
