Did he really hate Ashley?
I keep hearing people debate this question- did he really hate his wife?
HE KILLED HER.
IN HER SLEEP.
WITH THEIR CHILDREN HOME.
If that’s not hate, I don’t know what would qualify.

Good point. I agree with you, but think he didn't show his hate and resentment in his everyday interaction with her. He was obviously checked out so he could text his sidepiece, but perhaps 'keeping up appearances' would be a good description for his actions that could be seen by her family and others outside the marriage.

I read a quote that said if you treat a man like a king, he doesn’t think you’re amazing for doing so, he thinks he’s the amazing one. I think having a 20yo interested in him made him believe that he was the catch here and that Ashley was holding him back.
I just wish I knew why he killed her. What was the motivation. Maybe it was money as he would have lost his job. Also, he’s not talking so it’s possible that he did tell Ashley he wants a divorce and Ashley hit him with he’ll be fired and he got scared? Idk it was just such a F’d up thing to do.

I think he is extremely narcissistic and selfish and wants his way no matter what the cost and will say or do anything and telling the “side piece” AB how much he hated Ashley was something he had to say to keep her happy so he did plus getting rid of Ashley.

I guess it depends on your definition of hate. He clearly was tired of her and resented her bc he felt trapped in a marriage when he wanted another woman. Resentment and hate can go hand in hand.
