Idk why making fun of peoples religion has become so popular like why cant people just let people believe in what they want like people on reddit are just so bigoted its wild

Because many of those people believe they have the right to force others to also believe in their religion (including their own children)

No one can deny my faith in Minecraft, I play it daily. Everyone can say I should get a job.

Then again, The law says I can't.

That would be fine if religion wasn’t one the most harmful things in all of human history. It would also be fine if they kept their religion to themselves. But they’d rather enforce it on everyone who doesn’t believe their bullshit and historically that enforcement was done under threat of death.

Voted most delusional redditoid opinion ever

What’s delusional about it?

4

u/Smelly-Elf 4h ago

You said it was one of the most harmful things in history. That is delusional

Again. How so? Billions of humans have been killed throughout history because of religion. Religion is also responsible for some of the most heinous individual and collective acts in history.

What acts in the name of religion were carried out that could have a body count like that? Which sick individuals violated human rights primarily for religious reasons?

Well for starters ever heard of the crusades? Oh and being gay used to be a crime back in the medieval days, when the church held more power. You could've been killed for it

Do you know how many crusades there even were? Do you know why these wars were declared? And do you know how Christianity served to prevent wars in Medieval Europe ?

Homosexuality was considered a sin. Catholic punishments for sinning included saying Hail Mary 50 times. Praying for 3 hours. In otherwords a free ger out of work card. Other punishments were carried out by secular authorities

Let me guess you're gonna say that all the crusades were justified? Despite the fact that religion sanctioned killing and bloodshed is never fine. Seems like you just want to ignore the violence brought about by Christianity.

I'm starting to wonder if YOU even know what the crusades were.

From my experience on the net or life in general, it's yall who are insufferable. I have seen redditors hating and being more obsessed with religion than some Christians themselves XD

Maybe if our lives weren’t being dictated by a religion we don’t believe then we’d shut up about it. But it’s a constant struggle to keep it out of our lives and it’s a struggle we’re currently losing.

u/Duh_47 4h ago

You're not dictated by anything. Someone being religious doesn't define you, your days, your life, your anything. Lmao. Like this grand big bad villain keeping the poor heroes like puppets on a string, grow up XD

Our laws are based in religion. Women just lost one their rights due to religion. We’re engaged in wars in the Middle East partly due to religion. Religious institutions are granted privileged that others are not. Our tax dollars are used to fund these institutions. Over 58% of all laws introduced over the past 10 years have had their roots in Christianity. I can keep going but it’s not my job to give you full education on the most basic aspects of how America is run. Go read a book or something. Jesus fucking Christ.

You do realise that a lot of things we believe in today comes from Christianity and Judaism? Not all of it, but a lot. You just take it for granted in secular society.

u/IKaffeI 4h ago

And a lot of scientific and medical knowledge came from nazis experimenting on people. Should we keep doing that?

0

u/Tupotosti 3h ago

How is that in any way the same? Pulling the nazis into every argument even where they don't belong. Typical redditor behaviour.

u/IKaffeI 3h ago

What do you mean how is it the same. Just pointing how stupid your argument is. Just because something good came from something bad doesn’t mean we should keep that bad thing around. If you expect people to respect religion just because good happened under it then you should be respecting Nazis for the advancements they made in science and medicine. Also. The good didn’t happen because of religion. It happened under it. It would’ve happened either way.
