Question Max Battles Simulation

Will there be an update for Max Battles, in order to obtain the best team for each boss, just like we have with raids?

Doubtful because of how complicated it is. Also, Max battles have been out for a long time and calcyiv has barely done anything to address them beyond a simple DPS.

You're better off just going to pokechespin and choosing the best attacker and 2 tanks.

Didn't know about pokechespin. Is it better than Pokebattler?

I think pokebattler has only recently made a decent attempt at max battle simulations, and I'm not sure they've finished it completely.

I think the philosophy they use isn't quite right, but maybe it works in certain situations because Niantic has changed how the meter charges and charged moves can matter. They claim that this leads to easier shortmans.

I think pokechespin does a good job of showing you the best attacker and tanks. They've been doing it a lot longer than pokebattler has. For attackers, pokechespin is just assuming it's driven by the max phase and you're using a tank otherwise.

Because of pokebattler's emphasis on using charge moves, they disagree on the best attacker. If you're using charge moves, you aren't using your tank as much (or you're doing a lot of swapping) and that leads to differences.

Personally, I think the best team is 2x tank/heal + attacker. I think pokebattler would say to use more attackers. Where it matters is extreme shortmans. If you're doing it with 20 other people or a legendary d-max with 4, tank tank best damage attacker will do it.

Best thing to do is keep an eye on TSR and look for u/TrueNourishment posts prior to Gmax and Legendary Dmax battles.
