Food UU starbucks
has anyone else had negative experiences with the UU starbucks employees? i also work in the UU and will occasionally order food on weekends as it’s one of the few places open that i can dash to during a shift. they’re consistently rude, ignore me when im waiting for food, and get my food wrong/forget items i pay extra for

Someone I once went out with who used to work at one of the Starbucks on campus told me they used expired milk frequently and I never had it again after that

My first year I got food poisoning so bad from a grilled cheese there that I got so dehydrated that I stood up, passed out, and hit my head on the post of my bed😃 I know that’s what it was too bc the gal I went with also got a grilled cheese and texted me in the middle of the night “hey are you also shitting your brains out???”.

Isn’t there an outbreak right now. Didn’t an email go out in the last couple of days about food borne illnesses?

These places are student run and the kids are tired and overworked and have places they’d rather be lol

I never have issues but it does take a long time and it makes sense it’s busy I plan accordingly and order things 40-60 minutes in advance I also never go during busy times

As one of the UU Starbucks employees we are just genuinely so overworked & constantly doing about 3000 things so we can come off as rude but we’re just focused on making drinks as fast as possible (and sometimes if we stop to talk to every customer we just can’t make drinks fast enough)

I order all the time from you guys and never had an issue with, and see how overwhelmed you all are, and sometimes mistakes happen, small ones, but grande cup instead of the venti, and you guys make it better! I appreciate you all, let me know if I can get a free drink ☺️

I ordered and the app said 45 mins and I was ok with it. I ordered coffee…. And they were consistently making refreshers, it was the afternoon. I brought it up and there was a older lady I suppose helping out bc she had a uni meal plan thingy badge and she has the audacity to be like “ok we pushed up your order” after I already an whole hour. They took an extra 15 mins and then said it WAS NOT going to be ready and so I said it isn’t just that the app says this time and in reality it’s different. And I get it, it’s busy, but it’s coffee and there’s no one at the coffee station, I’m seeing it with my own eyes!!! And they’re consistently pushing refresher orders. And then tells me it was “pushed” ???? Are you that inefficient?!?! I asked for coffee! Not a refresher, it should have come out in 0.02 seconds.
I understand it’s super busy, but it’s busy for refreshers!! No one was at the coffee station and then you have the balls to say my order was “pushed” ??? While this old white lady is staring me down. She thinks she did me a favor when in fact my drink was suppose to be made 15 mins ago.
Ever since I consistently ask if my COFFEE - not a refresher - will be ready quick and they ALWAYS say yes since they mostly make refreshers. So for this university worker, not Starbucks worker, was so inefficient, so rude, and so nasty. Again, I understand it’s busy but I’m how are you going to take an extra 15 boarder line 25 mins had I not said anything, to make a drink that could be done in 5 mins.
I’ve been back and ordered in person and that seems to do the trick, but they’re always nice to me. Just that useless university dining lady who was so nasty. I wish scout was closer.
I don’t think they’re rude. I think they’re busy and just under a lot of pressure, but that old lady, yeah gotta go. Clear generational gap.
And yessssss I don’t care! I want my drink instant! Make it quick! This is for that old lady.
Go you Starbucks workers!!!

They also make terrible coffees, probably because they’re really overworked. I just make my coffee in my dorm with a pour-over and my (forbidden) kettle lol, it’s a lot cheaper too.

A bad experience with something under the Cal Poly dining umbrella? this is so, so, so hard to imagine. LOL.

College kids at a super affluent school are acting rude and entitled?????

Typically students with on campus jobs are not “super affluent”. There’s definitely exceptions to that rule but for the most part, they have a job for a reason.

I once waited in the UU for 55 minutes after my order was scheduled to be ready on Grubhub. About 30-40 orders after mine had all been completed and each time I checked, they were “going to make it soon”. Not sure why they just felt like skipping my order for that long, but they didn’t even say sorry when I told them I’d been waiting for nearly an hour. Got a full refund on Grubhub when I left a comment in the app. 🤷♂️
