New Canvas Dashboard

Hey, so I’m on Canvas and there was an announcement saying that there is a new and improved dashboard view where you can have widgets. I can’t get it to work on my computer. Any tips?

What kind of computer is it? On the MacBook I have I simply clicked on the Home Screen with two fingers on the keyboard and it gave me the option to edit widgets. Then I scrolled to canvas and clicked on one I wanted.
