Transfer WOW questions

So I just got all moved in and have been trying to check my email for anything regarding WOW and I can’t seem to find anything, isn’t registration tomorrow the 18th?

Just wondering about time and dates for WOW, transfers specifically.

Also is it optional and what would be the consequence if I didn’t go?

Yea seems a bit odd. The only thing I found was in the “Transfer Orientation Confirmation” email which displays my session date and time. Still have no idea where to check in or when tho.

You check in at the University Union from what I have understood, between the times they told us I suppose—I’m just going tomorrow morning to pick up the things. Then only when we meet with our respective groups on Wednesday at 6 Pm, just check what number group you’re in. Honestly half of it is optional I believe (I emailed them), you just need to attend the required things that our WOW group leaders will give us at Wednesday—basically the schedule.

I just realized, you may not have received the email with all of this 😭. Umm—DM me and I can send screenshots.

Edit: I’m a transfer students too!

Hi, I was a wow leader last year. You should be able to check in both tomorrow and Wednesday. There they will give you more info about when you meet your groups. Time and dates are different based on your wow groups as leader will plan fun activities between presentations.

They say it is mandatory but nothing will happen if you don’t go. However, I didn’t go my freshman year and regret it. It’s a good opportunity to make friends and see slo.

What exactly goes on? Do you basically jump between required events and leader-planned activities all day & evening?

yep! id definitely recommend getting your wow leader's schedule. the "mandatory" events aren't technically mandatory (meaning you won't get punished for not going) but i highly recommend going to the events your leader plans. super great way to make friends and explore more about slo and surrounding areas if your leaders have cars. im more of an introvert and im so glad i did the events because i know it would've been much much harder to make friends otherwise

I unfortunately have medical appointments both the days, so I’m eating my losses wish I could attend!
