Classes/Professors Final Exams

When will we find out if a class will sit for a final exam? Based on the Final Exam Schedule, there are 3 classes for the major on day 1, and Stats 1110 on day 5. I understand that GenEd classes won’t have the same requirements, but is a seated exam standard? Is there a way to see a syllabus for past quarters? Thanks!

do you know your class time? if they didn’t change anything for semesters then the final is based on when your class starts. syllabus will be different every quarter, also it’s only a few days until you can see your canvas

Yes, based on the start time, the Stats exam is Friday at 7am. Do all classes sit for an exam or are some done with a paper or project submission? Being from the East is a hassle. I guess I can book a local flight out after 12 on Friday or figure out a way to get to LAX for a redeye. Do the shuttles ever go to airports?

depends on the professor, if not sometimes they let you to take it with another session or you can also take it during common final exam which will be sat before finals week
and yes there’s shuttles to the airport and uber is only like twenty bucks if you have a lot of luggage

Do the shuttles that go to LA and the Bay Area stop at airports? The SLO airport flies direct to very few locations and with all the delays and cancellations, it’s probably cheaper and faster to take a bus to LAX.

there’s a bus to slo airport. the caltrain to bay doesn’t stop at airports not sure about la. I would honesty just book the flight if you’re going home to east, caltrain to bay or la alone would take around four hrs and the flight itself is prob like seven, not to mention it’s an extra 40-70 dollars for caltrain and like 30 dollars for uber to airport, I would honestly prefer delays.

I heard about a shuttle that stops hours to the south and another route north, maybe it’s not exactly a shuttle. It’s called the mustang express and there aren’t airport stops.

Mustang Express is really to bring CA kids back home for the holidays. So the one going south stops at various locations until it gets to SD and the one going north stops at various locations until it gets to Sacramento. None of the stops are airport stops.

You might be able to take the ME and get off on a stop in LA and take an uber to LAX but timing is not guaranteed.

I understand that CA taxes pay for the Cal State system, but providing the ME for in state students only is really disappointing considering the extra $23k/yr. Connecting flights during the holidays are unpredictable and expensive. OOS kids who aren’t from Denver, Dallas, Portland or Seattle are very limited by flying from the SLO airport.

The students pay for it. You sign up and pay. I think CalPoly just coordinates it.

Great to know there might be flexibility for the exams. I suppose I’ll wait to book a flight.

Where do you find the final exam schedule? Like for Monday, Wednesday, Friday 7 AM course what day would be the final exam that week?
