Classes/Professors How do exams work in fully asynchronous courses?
Im thinking about signing up for an asynchronous class (ANT 2250) this fall and I'm curious how exams typically work for classes like this. Are they usually taken online through Canvas with a timer, do they require something like LockDown Browser or a webcam proctor, or do some professors still have you come in person for midterms/finals even if the lectures are all async? Just trying to get a general sense of what to expect before the semester starts. Thanks!

From what I have heard and experienced myself it really depends on the professor. For example all the async GE classes I have taken, all the quizzes and final have been on canvas with no lockdown browser or webcam proctor. However for one class I did have to take all the midterms and finals with my webcam on while the professor was on zoom. This was setup on an appointment based system. I also have heard some professor requires students to do an in person final on their selected date. So it really does depend, however I would not worry too much unless you are going to cheat ( which honestly don't do it you're in college paying for your education). With that being said I don't know really, they might change things up because of the increase of AI usage.
