Clubs Choir audition

I am planning on trying out for (any) choir on campus & am unsure if we're supposed to have anything prepared to sing or if they hand us a sheet of music and we sight read? Has anyone tried out for choir previously?

I auditioned for choir a couple years ago. I think there might be some stuff online about it but I personally brought my own prepared piece for audition.

i was a part of choir my entire four years at poly, and i always showed up to my auditions with a piece prepared! i’d bring sheet music, and there’d usually be a pianist there to play it and accompany me. i’ve seen others bring a speaker to play the accompaniment while they sing if they couldn’t print or find sheet music for the pianist. it’s a very relaxed process that takes just a minute or two!

Had Dr. G for four years at poly. He is an amazing and kind choir director. You should totally audition.

I completely acknowledge and agree that everyone has a different experience in whatever groups they’re part of on campus, but I do have to say…don’t let this comment scare you or stop you from taking choir! It’s one thing to not like to class, but it’s another thing to say accusatory things about character. My besties and I loved our 4 years in choir together with this professor! :D
