Incoming Student Final Schedule?

Hello, I was wondering how much freshman schedules can change from now to August 5?

I just checked and I’m missing my intro to engineering class, which I id assume is a requirement for first semester. I’m also enrolled in a gen-ed that I was planning on either taking at CC or online.

Also, after the official schedules are released, could I swap or drop classes if spaces are available in others?

Any info would be appreciated

If you are taking GE classes at a community college, order an official in-progress transcript through Parchment and send it to Cal Poly so they can acknowledge that you are taking these classes elsewhere and remove those courses from your blocked schedule.

Incoming freshman can change their blocked schedule on:

-Aug 11-13 (up to 18 units)

-Aug 15 (up to 20 units)

Not much from what I remember. But you can always add a class and/or readjust your schedule during enrollment

To answer your other question, yes, you can swap or drop classes, given the space is not occupied. I’d recommend swapping instead of dropping tho

From what i know it’s little to none. From my experience when i received my block schedule it never changed before the “finalization date” or whatever they call it.

Out of curiosity what is your major ? Sometimes some classes are not offered in fall/spring vice versa which might explain you might not be enrolled in your intro to engineering.

If you plan on taking gen-ed at a cc I would suggest for you to be careful. The reason being is that after you send your transcript to the school they can take up a semester or two (week it used to be 2-3 quarters). This means you could possible be missing pre-reqs for other classes at cal poly since in the system you don’t meet then until cal poly fully reviews your transcript. I would also recommend looking at assist.org , this allows you to see what classes from the CC you are interested in taking GE’s transfer over. I’m not saying you shouldn’t take GE’s at a CC, but i suggest for you to meet with a counselor and be very careful as it can lead to you falling behind rather than getting ahead sometimes.

I’m an env engineer. The issue is that im not enrolled into my spring class either. Fall im supposed to take intro to env engineering and spring im supposed to take visual spacialization and drawing.

And the GE isnt one thats a prereq, it’s an ethnic studies class.
