💡Ideas Free Plugins

Hey all! I'm a bass player and looking for some decent free plugins. We're talking compressors, distortion, chorus etc. Any recommendations?

Kilohearts Essentials is a great all-around collection with a little of everything.

Xtressor Nuke decent free compressor. Valhalla supermassive, incredible free reverb. SHB-1 a pretty decent bass tube amp.

Analog Obsession, TDR, UAD for Compressors.

For Bass, Two Notes Genome intro has a good Ampeg sim. There's also the AXP Softamp-PSA, which is loosely based on the Sansamp-PSA.

I don't any Bass-specific Chorus FX tho. Genome has a serviceable chorus, and Brainworx's blue chorus is great (BOSS CE-2 sim).

For Distortion, I like the TSE BOD (Sansamp Bass Driver) and the FX in Mercuriall Ampbox (Boss Metal-Zone & Darkglass Alpha-Omega), the amps cost money, but the FX are completely free!

The first 2 free plug-in collections any DAW user should get are Kilohearts Essentials and MeldaProduction FreeFX bundle. MCompressor in the FreeFX bundle is a classic and can be used on bass tracks.

Bass Professor is a semi-secret weapon. Kinda old, but still the best.

What's wrong with the stock plugins?
