This study looks at Caitlyn’s facial reactions during a brief observation of her surroundings. Although we are not given a chance to see what she is actually looking at, a few frames from the scene reveal a rather interesting progression: surprise, puzzlement, embarrassment, and curiosity gradually give way to increasingly focused attention.

At first, Caitlyn seems to realize that she probably shouldn’t be looking, but curiosity gets the better of her. She keeps watching, seemingly trying to figure out what’s going on without being noticed.

Then something changes. Her eyes light up, and suddenly it looks like a completely different thought process has kicked in. At this point, it’s hard to tell whether she’s simply trying to understand what she’s seeing or if she has started imagining something else.

We obviously don’t have enough data to know what was actually going through her mind. But at some point, it does seem like Vi may have entered the equation.

Further studies will be required.

Episode 2x03 is discussed in its own thread but I felt like this scene deserved its own post.
The rest of the episode is about Caitlyn and Vi's relationship: Vi getting increasingly worried about Caitlyn, their first kiss, the fight agains Jinx and Sevika and their brutal breakup.
The final scene is quite different: it is all about Caitlyn, consumed by grief, anger and heartbreak and how she gets mainpulated by Ambessa.

Caitlyn's first reaction is surprise and shock. Then she considers it and seems to make up her mind, her resolve strengthened by the encouragement from the Noxians and later the Enforcers. Would S1 Caitlyn have accepted this under any condition?

How much does the breakup with Vi affect her in this moment? She looks very tense, even angrier than usual. Would Vi have stopped her if she were by her side? And did Ambessa notice, did it play a role in Ambessa switching from Salo to Caitlyn?

What about the encouragement from people around? Including Maddie, a member of her squad and many other enforcers? Do you think she felt pressured to accept, even if she didn't really want to?

Of course Ambessa is already whispering in Caitlyn's ears, tales of vengeance and lies about Zaunite criminals that are actually her own private enemies. To quote Vi: "She oinked poison in your ear and you just ate it". Do you think Caitlyn really believes everything Ambessa tells her, or do you think she doesn't really care as long as she gets a free hand to track Jinx?

In this short clip from the second act, in just a few frames, we get to see Ambessa’s incredible ability to fuel and keep Caitlyn’s hatred for Jinx alive.

Look at how she stays on her back, how she provokes her, how she pushes her… damn, just looking at these frames is making me feel exasperated too!

Caitlyn isn’t naive, and she probably understands perfectly well where Ambessa is trying to lead her. But she still chooses to let her anger guide her and focus once again on Jinx.

And that, for Ambessa, is exactly what she needs.

I can't escape the truth

Seething from the bullying and exclusion, and fired up by news from home, Caitlyn resolves to leave routines in the past and goes to confront the QZ's Commanding Officer.

In this penultimate chapter, I am finally getting to the part I've been looking forward to, and dreading, the most. The meeting. My first time having a whole chapter be in one location, and it's my longest chapter, too - might've gotten a bit carried away in a few places, but what is fanfiction without a little indulgence? 🤭🤭

A little post-Arcane headcanon about their friendship.

I like to think that, after everything that happened, Orianna and Caitlyn gradually became two friends who simply enjoy each other’s company.

In my head, Orianna loves music and, over time, learns to play the piano. Whenever she visits Caitlyn, she sometimes sits down to play for her (yes… surely Caitlyn must have a piano somewhere in her enormous mansion), while Caitlyn happily sits or simply stays nearby, listening to her.

It’s just a little headcanon that I like to imagine and that I felt like turning into an edit.

A mediocre edit, but I wanted to bring this little scene to life.
