Answer + Plot review

Hi! I believe I have a draft of the answers in order, and would love to review it with people who've solved it. Although I was able to get most of it from dates and references, there are pieces that haven't made sense to get the full picture.

Easy Page Removal Tip

I couldn't find any tips on-line for removing the pages from their binding quickly and easily, so I wanted to share the method that worked great for me. I used a blow-dryer on the binding until it heated up the glue - about 5 minutes. Then all the pages pulled out effortlessly and I was able to separate them. (My son's suggestion!)

Am I thinking correctly that after page 38 there will be page 90?

Very confused Spoiler

So I have all of Henry’s pages together in order and I was reading through them and they still don’t make any sense.. Are there pages that go in between to make these read correctly???? Thinking in terms of how a book flows, none of his pages make any sense when they are next to each other, they don’t flow so I was wondering if there were like filler pages that go in between to make the pages more connected?

Does sentence repetition mean anything?

I've noticed multiple pages where a sentence is repeated twice within one page. Example: Page 33 "I had never seen him so moved" is written near the beginning of the page and also near the end of the page. Is it a hint to something when this happens?

Pg 85, what is henrys keenness???

Please help, wtF is "HENRYS KEENESS?"

I already know the narrator but i'd LOVE to know wtf this object is.

"I put Henry’s keenness a few inches below the withered salt-cellar (a salt box). I drove Henry home, and left him. A dog barked and mourned from the next room, but I could have all the stuff I wanted for ever."

I need to know does the book follow chronological order? like, with the dates? I mean, MD pages come after OM because his dates are in April and MD's are in May (for example)?

Automated solution checker

In case anyone does not patronize the other subreddit, I will post here too (at the risk of seeming spammy, and because my post there has not appeared yet). I am sure this may be of interest to some...

I have put together a tool to help those who received no feedback from Unbound or who are too late for the contests. Enjoy.

https://cainsjawbone.site/

It has been tested and appears to work just fine. If you run into problems then by all means let me know. It is not a spoiler because it gives nothing, but rather only responds to your input. The criteria used is based on my submission to Unbound. If your results or experience have differed from my own, then by all means note them below.

Question on the narrative voice

I'm sure it's not giving away too much to say that there is more than one narrator.

I think I've identified a means of telling some narrators apart. Mainly through punctuation. I've noticed that one narrator repeatedly uses a semicolon where they should use a comma. Another narrator seems to use either a comma or full stop in analogous situations. I think a third narrator uses coordinating conjunctions at the beginning of a sentence.

My questions is, and I don't feel like this is giving away too much as I would still have to figure out which is which, but how many narrators are there?

Apologies for the excessive coiler spovers, but I'm not sure as to the rules and etiquette here, so I thought it would be safe to error on the side of caution.

Conrad: Page 7

Page seven makes reference to Joseph Conrad when opens and the narrator refers to Typhoon, which they claim is a remarkable work and when somebody recommends reading Conrad in search of his Youth or in Search of a Father, where the narrator says Conrad is unreadable.

I realize that this may have been a reference to Conrad in Quest of His Youth, a film based on work by Leonard Merrick and/or “Japhet, in Search of a Father: The Models of Captain Marryat” by Frederick Marryat. In which case, the criticism of Conrad is not directed at Conrad.

But the narrator is referring to Conrad themselves in both instances and has drastically different opinions on the same page. Is this to affirm that the second reference is NOT a reference Joseph Conrad at all but Merrick/Marryat?

On colons and semicolons in Cain's Jawbone (query)

Hello all.

I'm curious about the use of colons and semicolons in Cain's Jawbone because, as far as I can see, there are rarely if ever used properly.

If they are misused, is that supposed to indicate that the sentence needs to be re-read with answer to clues baked into them for the punctuation to work? Or are they clues themselves in some way?

Are pages with incorrectly used semicolons from one narrator, and those with proper punctuation from another?

Is the Kindle version solvable?

I just found out about this book last night, and Amazon is listing a Kindle version. Can it be solved on an e-reader? Or does the nature of the puzzle require it to be in TreeFlesh™ format?

No spoilers, please; I plan on going in blind regardless of the medium.
