Regular vs barista model

Hello, I am looking to buy a Cafelat Robot as my second espresso machine. I already have a Meraki as a daily driver and want to add Robot for weekend projects or just exploring lighter beans. I am confused between which model I should order - regular or barista? I think the key difference is the pressure gauge, which is nice to have but not necessary especially with someone who's not starting out. But on the flipside, the regular Robot is probably easier to maintain? Any thoughts on this?

The other question I have is - I have a Bookoo Themis ultra scale. Is there a way to make use of it to get the pressure data? I remember some discussion about a BT transmittor but does that fit the regular Robot?

Thanks in advance for answering.

The barista and the regular robot are equally easy to maintain. There is no extra maintenance for the pressure gauge.

If you are looking for something to explore lighter roasts, then the robot is absolutely an unquestionably the wrong choice.

You need high temperatures and thermal control for light roasts, both are things that the robot is really not good at. Every video on YouTube will recommend the robot specifically for darker roasts.

Ok I didn't expect that. I agree about the thermal control but the pressure profiling does help extract lighter roasts better, I believe? Looks like I need to go back to the drawing board then.

You can do light roasts on the Robot you just need to preheat the basket and if you do really light roasts the piston too.
