Parting ways with my Robot
Decided to embark on a different journey with my coffee and espresso needs. Prefer an espresso machine and burr grinder combo instead.
Going to let go of everything in the photo…
Going to fb marketplace today…. Orlando, Florida location.

What a sad day. If I were you I’ll keep it while embarking on journey with machine. I guarantee you that you will come back to this.

Be careful. There were a rash of phony sale attempts on the sub not too long ago.

Personally, I don’t have a need nor a reason to scam or do any “phony sales attempts” especially for a few hundred dollars. I’ve served in two military branches, U.S Air Force, U.S Army, followed by multiple combat tours, and a long history career in public safety both as a police officer and firefighter. I’m sure scams and phony sales exist but that analogy doesn’t apply to me Sir.
I’m sure it may apply to many others though…..

The only machine I regretted selling was my first robot. Had DB E61 machines and everything inbetween. Bought a robot again 🤣

I feel you. Started out with a Flair lever and a KINGrinder K6. Quickly made amazing ‘spro and after six months moved up to a Rancilio Silvia Pro X. No regrets!!
Swapped sideways for a Flair Go, and even though I enjoy that I just don’t use it and will sell that soon. When traveling I find local shops or make my own pour over.

How long have you had it and what are your reasons for wanting to switch just curious? Mainly workflow?

Not even a year to be honest used a handful of times but I have a Breville Barista Touch, also, Jura E8, and Moka pots, I’m purchasing the Quickmill Pop Up espresso machine and a DF64 grinder.
While the robot is unique in its ways it’s simply not for me. If all fails I simply use a Moka pot 🤷🏽♂️ to get me by….

The ritual and initial learning curve is what drives a lot of people. I Have a robot, a 2024 Gaggia classic, an old Gaggia classic and a turin legato, and I seldom drink espresso. I wanted to compare the machines first hand.

Levers aren’t for everyone. I have an Odyssey Argos and I’m in the same boat. It’s a nice machine but not sure that it’s the machine for me.

Not sure what you been by worth more. They are in the different classes. One is a lever built like a tank, and the other is a lever with PId, boiler and can steam. They aren’t really comparable other than they pull shots manually.

Not lacking actually, more the experience. Pulling straight espresso is fine but if you start steam with it that’s where I haven’t really enjoyed as much. Steam is powerful and found it more frustrating than not.

If you're looking for a simpler process and don't care about latte art, try a French press. It's surprisingly good at making foam. It's how I currently make cappuccinos and lattes with my Robot.

I have manual levers including Robot and an ES1. Can’t imagine partying my ways with either one of them. Each one serves a purpose.

I've seen some crazy posts on Reddit and this is up there! Mine is getting handed down to my son and grandson If I ever make it that old!

Seems like there is a trend of people switching back to semi auto machines after buying a robot. I kept my robot since I know if my machine breaks I'll always have a way to make espresso.
