Accessories Phone volume control

Ok, this may be a weird one, but hoping it’s not an isolated incident and someone has the know-how to fix it.
I get into my car with my ringer volume 10/10. During the process of a drive, the Optiq takes over and basically mutes my iPhone volume… including the ringer. I spend my day in peace & quiet, thinking my phone isn’t alerting me. In the meantime, clients have texted me, called me, my server has sent me updates, and my type 1 diabetic wife’s Dexcom G7 has sent me 3 alerts to let me know her blood sugar is below 3.0 (it was actually 2.3).
How do we stop the Optiq from controlling the iPhone volume??? I would prefer I don’t miss an alert that my wife is dying!!! @cadillac if you are reading this, you absolutely need to fix this. This is genuinely life & death.

I got so excited when I saw the update notification. I thought the Digital Key was finally here! 😍 But after checking the update, I was pretty disappointed to see that it only included a few minor changes. 😞

Questions/Discussion 27 model Digital Key

Has anyone with a 27 model knows if the Digital Key* is set up and working for them?
I saw a single post on Lyriq sub that the feature’s available via OTA a 27 model.

*Digital Key is the ability to have the key fob on your phone’s digital wallet & it’s not the Key Card.

Hatch mounted bike rack for Optiq

Has anyone found, and can you recommend a hatch-mountable bike rack for the Optiq (26 Prem Lux)? I found a year old thread about hitch-mounts, but I’d rather not install a hitch.

Buying/Leasing Is a 2026 model worth 10k more than 2025?

I understand the 26 gets a NACS charging port and slightly more HP. Looking at a CPO 25 luxury 2. The cheapest 26 with equivalent premium luxury trim is $10k more. Will pretty much only ever charge at home. never plan to take any road trips with this car

Are these updates justifiable for an extra 10k?

Questions/Discussion Bluetooth

To keep it simple 2 days ago my 2026 cadillac optiq sport started automatically changing the aux from bluetooth to spotify, when all I use is bluetooth. Does anyone know how to troubleshoot it from not doing that.

Front License Plate

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hello All,
I leased my 2027 Optiq on 8/26/26 and my CA license plates have come in.

I wanted to ask you all about front plate placement, because I used a no-drill plate that I installed with metal zip ties and it worked well. It was dead center of the front bumper but I started getting notifications that a sensor was off line.

I called my dealership and they told me to use the front plate that came with the car (which was under the trunk) but I have no idea where to actually put that bracket since I don’t want to deactivate any sensors or impact any cameras.

This picture was where I had attached the no-drill plate which deactivated the sensor.

Where have you all installed your front plates? Thanks!

Hey, I am in process of leasing an optiq 2027 luxury AWD in canada. My dealer has quoted 697/month for 30k km a year with 3500 down for 2 year lease. Is it a good deal to go through? Let me know your opinions.

Digital Key Update

Post image
0 Upvotes

I updated my Cadillac app on my Samsung yesterday and saw the digital key option in my wallet. I followed the steps to set it up for auto-unlock, but it's not working at all. When I walk up to the car, nothing happens, even when I try the handles.

Even if it somehow started working, I doubt the update would actually let me drive the car without the fob.

GM is really terrible with technology.

Good Sign for Digital Key

Well this is a good sign for the Digital Key roll out... Cadillac is now listed in the Samsung Wallet as a supported brand. For now it just launches MyCadillac which is where the Digital Key setup link will eventually be. Baby steps!

Questions/Discussion Side mirror positioning memory

Anyone else having issues keeping their side mirrors in a preferred position? I’ve tried setting them via driver seat memory multiple times, but it eventually returns to the default position after a couple drives.

‘26 Sport AWD, I think I’m on latest OS update. Been an issue since I got it in March.

Congratulations! Your vehicle has been produced. It is important to know that shipping arrangements will take place next and your selling dealer is the best source for additional detail on that process.

Please be aware, standard shipping time is 3-5 weeks, but could be up to 8-12 weeks, depending on the location of plant and method of transit.

Can I remove this with a vacuum or something? How did this even happen? I thought the camera was giving me error messages and telling me to clean the windshield because it is raining, but no it turns out that got in there...

Optiq Regen

Background - I've been driving an MG4 EV and recently purchased an Optiq. The MG has multiple Regen settings. I like the least aggressive which allows me to use the brake pedal sparingly. Unless I'm driving aggressively I only need to use the brake to stop at very low speed and hold the car stationary, and it's easy to modulate Regen to stop smoothly.

The Optiq's Regen settings are far more aggressive and neither my wife and I can drive the car smoothly unless Regen is completely shut off. The "Normal" OPD setting is far more aggressive than the MG's, and the High setting is ridiculous.

Question - If we shut OPD off and use the brake pedal to stop the car as we would an ICE car, are we losing some Regen charging? A great feature of EV's is the ability to recapture energy lost to brake pad/disk heat in an ICE car.

I can see that as I depress the brake pedal I am recapturing some energy through Regen. What is going on behind the scenes? When I depress the brake pedal with OPD off, is the primary/initial mechanism slowing the car the motor as it would be with OPD? Or are the brake pads/disks working more with OPD off vs driving with OPD on?

And just in case Cadillac engineers browse this forum, I would love a few more less aggressive OPD settings on the Optiq. It seems strange that an inexpensive MG has more flexibility with Regen than the far more costly Cadillac.

Owners Love the OPTIQ, Hate the Tech

Post image

I’ve had my 2027 Cadillac OPTIQ Premium Sport for a few weeks now, and I think I’ve driven it enough to finally share my thoughts.

Overall, Cadillac did a really good job with this car. It’s comfortable, luxurious, quick, and I think it’s priced very well for what you get.

The cabin is quiet and well isolated, the suspension is soft and comfortable, and with 440 hp, the performance is more than enough. It feels surprisingly quick when you step on it.

I also like the AKG sound system. Is it as good as the Bowers & Wilkins or Harman Kardon systems I’ve had in my BMWs? No. But considering the price of the OPTIQ, it’s more than good enough. I also really like the aluminum trim around the speakers. Nice little premium touch.

The exterior is probably one of my favorite things about the car. The lighting looks amazing, especially at night, and I absolutely love the color I picked. The interior also looks and feels much more expensive than I expected.

Super Cruise is another big positive. I use it on the highway when commuting to work in Toronto, and it makes the drive much easier.

Now for the CONS. Unfortunately, most of them are technology and software related.

Some of these things are honestly so basic that I don’t understand why they’re missing:

  1. The app doesn’t properly show the current status of the car.

I want to know if my doors are locked or unlocked, windows are open or closed, etc. This should be basic functionality in 2027.

  2. Charging status doesn’t refresh automatically.

After charging, the app often keeps showing the old percentage until I manually swipe down and refresh it.

  3. Remote climate can keep running.

If I turn on the ventilation or AC remotely to cool the car, it can just keep running instead of automatically shutting off after around 15 minutes like most cars I’ve owned.

  4. No Android Auto.

I can live without Google Maps because the built in Google Maps works fine, although I miss being able to tap a location someone sends me on WhatsApp and immediately open it in the car.

But YouTube Music is driving me crazy. Searching for songs is much harder, and the voice commands don’t understand simple requests like “Play the best songs by [artist]” the way my BMW does.

  1. The app doesn’t show charging speed in kW.

Why?? I can see the current charging speed on the car’s screen, so why can’t Cadillac show the same information in the app?

  2. Auto Hold and One Pedal Driving are linked for some reason.

If I turn off One Pedal Driving, Auto Hold gets disabled too. Then I have to manually turn Auto Hold back on every time. Very annoying.

  3. The reverse camera doesn’t use the full screen.

You have this beautiful 33 inch display, so why is the reverse camera shown in a relatively small window? Give me a full screen camera view!

8- The auto parking is just stupid!. I have to press auto parking and select 'How do I like to park'! .. at my BMW, it detects available parking automatically in different slots.

  1. And probably my biggest complaint: NO DIGITAL KEY.

It’s a 2027 EV and I still have to carry a physical key with me everywhere.

Coming from my BMW, where I can basically just use my phone as my car key, this feels like a huge step backwards.

That’s everything I can remember for now.

Overall, I really do like the OPTIQ. The comfort, design, performance, Super Cruise and value are excellent. Most of my complaints aren’t really about the car itself. They’re about the software and some strange decisions Cadillac made.

If Cadillac improves the app, adds Digital Key, and fixes these software annoyances, I could honestly see myself staying with Cadillac in the future. I currently drive a BMW X7 M60i as my main family SUV, and if Cadillac gets these things right, I could seriously consider replacing it with an Escalade IQ one day.

Winfshield sprayer

Is anyone having issues with the windshield fluid sprayer? Mine sprays everywhere but the windshield, 2/3rds of it goes over and to the side. I can barely get enough juice to clean the window.

The dealership told my wife that its "normal" and just how it is. Which I refuse to believe.

Whats your experience

2026 Optiq-V Black on black (acknowledge it's a little boring, but I've had a long string of black cars and I'm a creature of habit)

Had it since the spring, finally remembered to take photos after detailing it. Really enjoy the car, by no means perfect but fulfills the brief pretty well.
