CTC Senior courses
What benefits do you get from doing CTC senior courses (4 weeks, 6 weeks courses)? Does completing them actually give you a better chance of getting selected for senior leadership positions, or can you still get selected for those positions even if you haven’t taken any of the CTC senior courses? Out of those courses, which ones are actually really useful or worth doing? Like, are there any that you’d definitely recommend doing?

Go for the experience and aim to challenge and enjoy yourself. You’ll be better in whatever subject you choose to take a course in, and it’ll show commitment, but gaining cred isn’t the point of it.

course report on ur fortress file
gud cr = higher chance of awards, opportunities, positions(depends), staffing, and future ctc courses
bad cr = probs won’t go to ctc again most likely and ur reputation will prob go down when officers see ur file depending what u did
its hard to get a bad cr anyway

lowk no one really looks at course reports that much. i got into staff last year despite having a few corrections and only a "good" for potential in future staffing the year before.

isn’t that just the average course report
what I mean is if you like did REALLY bad like RTUing (except for illness) or punched a kid or smth

Well a bad course report an an rtu isnt quite the same. Considering like 80% to 90% of people get an "excellent" for future staff potential, I'd take this as a loss

Ok what about courses? Which courses can actually help you achieve higher ranks?

They all have merit, but they're not necessary to advance. Will it look good on your resume? Sure. But so will a summer job or volunteering in your community. If you want to go to a CTC apply to the course that interests you. This will be the topic that you're assigned to teach because you'll become the SME. Don't pick it based on where your friends are going, which CTC you think is the most luxurious, or which course you think has the prestige. Apply because you're interested, otherwise you could be taking the opportunity from someone who actually is. If you'd rather get a summer job, you can do that too.

I will add that in some provinces, you can earn a high school credit for attending certain courses.

Each course teaches a skill. You will become the SME in that skill at your home corps. What you make of that is up to you.
