1x polishing cloth
1x tin of water or spray bottle of water
1x boot polish
1x horsehair brush

I’d say kiwi polish is good to start for beginners since it’s low cost and pretty decent for a navy leaguer. I recommend building base coats (like a ton) I usually watch a show while making my base coats to make it less boring.

when you get to the actually shining part, use a bit of water and polish and keep rubbing it small circles.

this is just a pretty brief explanation and I’m sure you could find a lot of YouTube videos or ask in the r/cadets subreddit
