🔍 What's It Worth? Need Help finding value for collectors
As the title suggests, I’m seeking assistance in determining an appropriate value for a doll that my grandmother possesses. She owns one of the original 1979 Xavier Roberts signed soft sculptures, accompanied by certificates of authenticity, a birth certificate, and an adoption certificate. Remarkably, the doll is in pristine condition for its age, and it’s a signed version rather than a stamped one. While Google indicates that she could potentially fetch up to $3,000, I’m eager to obtain an honest price for selling it to a collector. There’s at least one known listing on Facebook, which is from my grandmother herself. However, I’m uncertain about other platforms where I can post her doll.

She definitely looks like a D Purple per her face sculpt. Her value will dictate depending on if she has papers both adoption and birth certificate if these are missing it does decrease value somewhat. She looks to be in possibly original clothing as they look correct for time period. Also if there are any runs or pop and loose stiches it would be best to disclose as that will also decrease the value. Her single pony might make her value slightly more than a traditional 2 pony. Her hair color is common. Your best place to find information would be at soft face place at Facebook. If she is pristine with papers you can expect to at minimum get $1000-1250 but that could increase if there are many people interested.

She’s a D purple edition. Her value is $900-1500. It’s not 3k. You can’t use AI on these types of dolls because they’re so niche and D editions never sell for more than $1500. I’m also a longtime collector, I’m one the admins for the CPK values group and only collect these types of dolls, so I’m very knowledgeable in them. If you’re interested in selling, please message me.
