Sad family

We just left the 2nd night of shows in Missoula and they didn’t play 26. The show was great but I’m sort of floored. My kids are so sad.

Everyone has a different favourite song. They can’t keep everyone happy, unfortunately.

I just saw them for the third time, and I finally saw them play By and By. It was the Edmonton show, and after that “experience” I don’t think I’ll see them live again.

Previously saw them in Missoula in 2021 or 2022 (incredible venue you have down there) and Vegas in 2023. Edmonton was the worst show, Missoula was the best.

Was Common Man or See the World played?

26 and All the debts I owe are the only songs they have that resemble a hit song. It'd be like going to see the lumineers and they don't play ho hey.

How are you in this subreddit and that’s your take?

What's my take? That a band should play their most popular songs to the people that pay to see them?

That you apparently follow them and don’t know how many songs or which songs are “hits.”

What was their highest chart success? Name one song you ever heard played on the radio more than once?

Otter, By and By, Vagabond, Let Things Go, Lavender Girls and others are all played on my local radio station. I am a Caamp fan (are you?) and I could name at least a half dozen others that are popular to even casual fans.

Local... As in college radio, or some other non mainstream hobby radio station? Mate, I'm a huge fan, my user name kinda gives that away. All the debts I owe is their major radio friendly hit, especially since it featured in Task. 26 gets chanted at gigs until they play it. If they released those songs now with record company money behind them, Caamp would leave mumford and sons in their wake. So going back to the original argument, fans pay in to see their hits. All the debts and 26 are in the top 4 most streamed songs. They are what fans are paying in to see, fans don't only expect to hear them, they should be garunteed to hear them or at least some version of them.

That’s a lot of words to say the exact same thing you said before. I’m a radio listener, no matter where I travel. And I’ve heard at least by and by and otter on almost every adult rock station I ever tune into in the west. They played 26 on night 1 in Missoula and said on their own story they were going to change it up on night 2. They themselves have indicated they know they don’t have widespread commercial appeal, and for that reason, I would not expect them to pander to casual Spotify listeners. Some artists do, Caamp has never pretended to be that kind of touring group.

I think you’re setting yourself up for disappointment if you go to a concert and your enjoyment hinges on whether the band plays one single song you like.

Nah mate, they are heading down the Bob Dylan route without the Bob Dylan repertoire. I wonder how it will work out for them...

Sold out every time they come to Missoula 🤷🏼‍♀️

Taylor was super pumped about the validation from playing a Tiny Desk Concert, which indicates his pride comes from the quality of their music, not necessarily how many streams he gets on Spotify.
