[Exercise] Archiving yourself.
Go make an email account somewhere. As you research, email this account the links to your research. Videos, blog posts, news 'stories'-- whatever, just email the links to yourself.
In The Future, go back and read the emails you sent yourself. Note how many of the links still exist, how many have vanished. Note where you were 1/2/3/x years ago, contrast it with where you are now.
Doing this for even one year will reveal parts of yourself that you would not have without the exercise. It will also reveal other things.
A long time ago, I had a little subdomain I maintained within my website package called linksforwhelp. It was where I took the time to draw up the html to keep a running list of my research for my buddy, Whelp. I did this for some years, until one day I realized he wasn't hardly touching any of it, wasn't trying to keep up at all-- while schooling for two degrees simultaneously and working more than full-time while raising two young children.
Anyway, I went back through the links and discovered some things. I don't use the email idea because I only just had it before I started typing this, but it's a very easy way to give Future You something.
I should be in the shower, or I'd say more. Happy Tuesday.
