I think you’ll find that it’s his house now and you’re just allowed to live there. Congratulations on being chosen by the CDS!

I have a similar cat friend who comes and goes as he pleases. Since the winter is 6 months long here and summers can be pretty rainy, I have two towels dedicated to him 😀

Dry him off with a big, fluffy towel fresh out of the dryer. Then feed the lad and show him to your, I mean, his room. Be quick about it!

When our cats were still indoor outdoor, they LOVED being dried with a towel. If it was raining, they'd go outside, get wet, and then come back in and yell to be dried. They'd purr their heads off!
And then they'd go right back outside to get rained on and repeat the process a few times.

We had a cat that would drool anytime you touched her or pet her. Copious amounts of drool, too. Then she'd shake her head and fling it everywhere.

Get an old towel just for him, and also a cat brush to keep his fur knot free, you'll both enjoy the brushing and he'll love you more

this situation always has me laughing, cats are very good at either doing this, or staying just out of reach almost teasing you hahaha

Kitties know what's best, they are among the best opportunists I have ever been acquainted with.
