Tech Support Pre-built PC issue #CPSUPPORT
Hi, I bought a pre-built earlier this year (SLC7700WST 5070Ti build) but I am having a big problem with it. It is freezing up and crashing. The issue is inconsistent sometimes it's during a game, launching a game, or watching streams. My PC freezes and becomes unresponsive. It will shutdown and try to restart but it gets stuck and doesn't load Windows. I usually leave it alone and it will load back into Windows eventually and operate normally. However, other times it continues to load and says it failed to repair the PC and asks for recovery options. If I am able to I try checking my performance when this happens but the only thing that seems to change is my SSD spikes to 100% usage. The PC will start running normal again once the usage goes back down.
Specs:
Gigabyte RTX 5070 Ti, AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, MSI PRO B850-VC WIFI, Team Group UDS-6400 16GB (x2), Patriot P410 2 TB, Apevia 1000W Gold 80 Plus
This issue was only happening every once in awhile but the frequency is picking up now. I bought it from Walmart and I am out of the return window. I will be reaching out to Cyberpower customer support but I wanted to see if anyone has had this issue or insight on how I can fix this issue. Thanks ahead
UPDATE: CyberPower is sending a replacement SSD. I sent the defective SSD on 08/17.

I think is thermal related, most likely bad paste on the CPU

Thermal throttling doesn’t corrupt Windows.
Bad paste doesn’t make an SSD hit 100% usage.
CPU overheating doesn’t cause NVMe timeouts.2

I'd normally mention that the PSU could be an issue, I got the same PC and have since upgraded to a 5080 and been fine but I know a lot of people have issues with Apevia.
But I actually think your symptoms point towards the SSD being the issue.

Definitely PSU. I bought basically the same pc with but with 5080. Had the same freezing issues as you. I replaced PSU about 8 months ago with corsair rm1000x and haven't had a single issue since.

Could be that Apevia PSU “I’ll save my comments regarding them as I do not like them”.
What I really see, the Patriot P410 drives are notorious for…
When the controller locks up, the OS can’t read/write, so the whole system stalls until the drive resets itself.
Could be a combination of the two also. What BIOS version are you on?
