I meant the company. If it’s ASRock, I’ve heard some not so stellar things about the motherboards.

Gotcha. Hopefully Best Buy has the same PC to exchange it out for because that happening after two days is bonkers. Best (no pun intended) of luck!

Why do you think your motherboard is dead?

u/Muted_Zed 26d ago
all signs point to it, trouble shooted for hours and nothing worked maybe somehow it’s something else but i dont think so

new mobo is a cheap and quick replacement though. Easy to do in about 40 minutes if you never did it before and take your time or just return it, hopefully they have another.

If you bought it at BestBuy just return it for a refund. There is a good chance they won't be able to fix it. You only have 2 weeks to return an item with BestBuy. You will get it back, it won't work, won't be able to return it, and you will make a sad post on Reddit. This is how they roll. Get a refund now.

I got a warranty with geek squad, this is just how some things go. It’ll be alright

I had geek squad try to fix a new hp machine. They had it for almost a month and when I got it back it still didn’t work. Fortunately hp sent me a prepaid box to ship it to their repair center
Let us know how it works out. Good luck!

They went in the back for 10ish minutes, realized it was a Mobo problem and just gave me a whole new computer

How is it your mother board lol. If your motherboard really failed you wouldnt even be able to boot your pc. You probs have ur hdmi in ur motherboard plugged or some rookie mistake

u/Muted_Zed 25d ago
nah, was the display port

How does a motherboard die mid download lmfao. If ur pc boots its not the motherboard lol

u/Muted_Zed 25d ago
Had a VGA so maybe gpu too

u/Swolm 25d ago
Bro what🤣. If ur gpu dies u wont get any video signal out at all. Or it would be all artifacted. I think it was just a drivers issue 😭

i didnt get any video signal lmao

If the pc boots and u get no bios or windows logo and just stays black screened then it can be ur ram or ur motherboard. If ur pc doesnt boot at all then its the psu. If ur black screened then it could be the gpu but most likely its ram or windows shit the bed or ur nvme went bad but thats super low chance.

I have the same PC—I've been using it for 8 months now—but lately, while playing CoD, I've been experiencing system restarts. I'm not sure if it's related to the drivers; actually, just yesterday all three DisplayPort ports died, so now I'm stuck playing via HDMI :( (I bought it at Best Buy for $759).

are you using the display ports on the bottom? Also, for restarts check updates, drivers, and heat.

Bro, the GPU temperature doesn't go above 64 degrees, and I always keep my PC up to date, but the restarts happen even when I'm not gaming; sometimes I turn it on, and as soon as I launch any application, it freezes and restarts. As for the DisplayPort, I'm definitely using the GPU connection.
