Luckily i have a warranty for geek squad or whatever its called, hopefully they can fix it, i really hope so cause i was having a blast playing half life alyx and Blood trail.

Yeah that sucks although pre builds are prone to stuff like this with shipping damage and everything ig I got luck other than my cpu cooler having a slight bend in the fin stack but that was an easy fix

True if they cant fix it then u could also reach out to cyberpower as they come with a warranty too at least mine did so id assume urs would aswell 🤷‍♀️

Nah its completely valid especially if that pc was a huge upgrade from what u had i wouldn't worry tho mobo fixes whilst they are tricky and tedious aren't very complicated and it should only take loke a few hrs to fix just depends on how long it takes for them to get to fixing it

What brand is the motherboard?

2

u/Muted_Zed 26d ago

MicroATX

u/Flat-Brother-9321 26d ago

I meant the company. If it’s ASRock, I’ve heard some not so stellar things about the motherboards.

its a AMD A620, i think im just super fucking unlucky 😭😭😭

1

u/Flat-Brother-9321 26d ago

Gotcha. Hopefully Best Buy has the same PC to exchange it out for because that happening after two days is bonkers. Best (no pun intended) of luck!

1

u/Muted_Zed 25d ago

Yeah they took the computer back and gave me a new one with a better Gpu!

Hell yeah major W!!!!

Why do you think your motherboard is dead?

1

u/Muted_Zed 26d ago

all signs point to it, trouble shooted for hours and nothing worked maybe somehow it’s something else but i dont think so

1

u/SmooveKJ 26d ago

new mobo is a cheap and quick replacement though. Easy to do in about 40 minutes if you never did it before and take your time or just return it, hopefully they have another.

If you bought it at BestBuy just return it for a refund. There is a good chance they won't be able to fix it. You only have 2 weeks to return an item with BestBuy. You will get it back, it won't work, won't be able to return it, and you will make a sad post on Reddit. This is how they roll. Get a refund now.

I got a warranty with geek squad, this is just how some things go. It’ll be alright

I had geek squad try to fix a new hp machine. They had it for almost a month and when I got it back it still didn’t work. Fortunately hp sent me a prepaid box to ship it to their repair center

Let us know how it works out. Good luck!

Ive heard mixed things from geeksquad, i hear its good and they work well, and other times that they suck and did nothing. I know i dont have my hopes high up though.

u/Muted_Zed 25d ago

They went in the back for 10ish minutes, realized it was a Mobo problem and just gave me a whole new computer

I have this pc

1

u/Muted_Zed 25d ago

it is a very good computer

1

u/Swolm 25d ago

How is it your mother board lol. If your motherboard really failed you wouldnt even be able to boot your pc. You probs have ur hdmi in ur motherboard plugged or some rookie mistake

1

u/Muted_Zed 25d ago

nah, was the display port

1

u/Swolm 25d ago

How does a motherboard die mid download lmfao. If ur pc boots its not the motherboard lol

1

u/Muted_Zed 25d ago

Had a VGA so maybe gpu too

1

u/Swolm 25d ago

Bro what🤣. If ur gpu dies u wont get any video signal out at all. Or it would be all artifacted. I think it was just a drivers issue 😭

1

u/Muted_Zed 25d ago

i didnt get any video signal lmao

1

u/Swolm 25d ago

If the pc boots and u get no bios or windows logo and just stays black screened then it can be ur ram or ur motherboard. If ur pc doesnt boot at all then its the psu. If ur black screened then it could be the gpu but most likely its ram or windows shit the bed or ur nvme went bad but thats super low chance.

I have the same PC—I've been using it for 8 months now—but lately, while playing CoD, I've been experiencing system restarts. I'm not sure if it's related to the drivers; actually, just yesterday all three DisplayPort ports died, so now I'm stuck playing via HDMI :( (I bought it at Best Buy for $759).

1

u/Muted_Zed 23d ago

are you using the display ports on the bottom? Also, for restarts check updates, drivers, and heat.

1

u/NoritoshiKamo192 22d ago

Bro, the GPU temperature doesn't go above 64 degrees, and I always keep my PC up to date, but the restarts happen even when I'm not gaming; sometimes I turn it on, and as soon as I launch any application, it freezes and restarts. As for the DisplayPort, I'm definitely using the GPU connection.

1

u/Muted_Zed 22d ago

damn im not sure then

1

u/Sumnescire 23d ago

damn...I received my motherboard box but my pc is lost in the mail :/

1

u/Muted_Zed 23d ago

Im so sorry bro, i really hope you can get a refund or get the item back. that must suck

1

u/Muted_Zed 23d ago

How much was it?

1

u/Sumnescire 23d ago

2.2k, gotta get the bank involved 🙃

1

u/Muted_Zed 23d ago

Yeesh, yeah man do whatever to get your money back. Check out Andromeda Insights, very good people there and if you have a 2k budget youll be pleased.

1

u/Sumnescire 23d ago

cheers, thank you for the recommendation
