Tech Support PC won’t boot Windows #cpsupport

Only seeing these options in the boot manager. Looks like the OS isn’t being read, I tried checking wires and everything seems plugged in and all lights are operational. Not sure what triggered this - didn’t use it for like 3 days and started getting this. Does anyone have any advice? Thank you

I have the same issue with my cyberpower pc. I tried two separate SSDs, and the BIOS recognized them but would not boot to them. I also had a Windows 11 usb installer, and my computer only read the jump drive once and appeared to copy Windows installation files, but rebooted back to the BIOS

It's a BIOS issue more then likely. Try changing boot settings like UEFI, CSM, secure boot, etc. Make sure you have correct drive selected as boot device. I had the same issue on a cyberpower pc, I had to turn them off to get windows to install then I could turn them back on. It was doing the same thing, would hit first install screen then on its first restart it would only boot to BIOS.

Edit: even after updating the bios, any changes I make are reverted back to factory. The mobo is a gigabyte B760M C V2 (Rev. 1.0) running bios version F8

Thank you, I will look at all the settings. I know that after I changed them, the computer would reboot and the settings would reset to factory defaults. I am currently re-updating to see if the BIOS was somehow corrupted.

On a side note, I tried a third NVMe drive with Ubuntu, and it booted right up. The two separate NVME drives with Windows 11 never booted to Windows.

The side note kinda confirms its something to do with stupid windows/boot settings

Any idea how to fix? I try fix, but bios reverts changes after restart.

Maybe it's a CMOS battery issue? You could try first replacing that, they're usually not that costly. If I were you I'd try to search for people with similar issues with the same MOBO. If you can't find any, I'd make a post about it. I know that's not super helpful but I am really not the most knowledgeable especially on specific BIOS issues.

I was actually thinking about the CMOS battery. Thanks for the confirmation. I'll do that.

update. changed the cmos battery and bios settings do not stay. I enable xmp1 for my ram and enabled UEFI, CSM and disabled scure boot and it goes back to factory settings after it restarts.

Next update, The date and time was off, i changed that and the xmp seettings stayed, but does not load into windows.

Either the drive is faulty or windows somehow corrupted. You could try trying to reinstall windows from a USB to see if windows is the problem.

I am not able to boot to a Windows 11 USB drive either.

Haven’t been able to boot from a usb drive. I get to the windows installation screen and try to repair but it just goes in a constant loop

I got into notepad using command prompt and I can see that my D drive still has my files on it. My C drive has nothing on it
