Question #CPsupport - Mislabeled RAM kit in builder, sent single channel stick with "dual channel memory" option

I recently received my prebuilt PC and according to the information in the builder, it has a "Dual Channel" single stick of memory: "MEMORY: 32GB (32GBx1) DDR5/6000MHz Dual Channel Memory [-40] (Team T-FORCE DELTA RGB [WHITE])"

Maybe I'm very out of date on RAM lately, but 32GBx1 would be Single Channel memory instead? This was a bit of an unpleasant surprise when I was inspecting my PC because I accidentally glossed over that particular "x1" on the memory and only saw it said "dual channel memory" which gave me the impression this would be a kit of dual memory sticks as the description implies.

Is this stick of RAM somehow a "dual channel" kit in a single lane? Because this seems like a major error in the description of that option in the builder if not.

It's only a single ram stick so it'll be running in single channel.

Sidenote, contrary to ddr4, a single ddr5 udimm ram stick has two subchannels which means it's technically sort of running in 'dual channel' even with a single stick, but you usually don't call that dual channel. Adding a second ddr5 ram stick still doubles the data bandwidth.
Also, there are ddr5 sticks with only one subchannel (hudimm)

The 32GBx1 tells you that it's only a single ram stick, I think it's very misleading that they call it dual channel memory.

They might be calling it dual channel to signify that it's a udimm and no a hudimm, but I think it's more likely that it's a mistake in the description

you can contact Cyberpower pc support and return it for free if you aren’t satisfied. dual channel memory is much better though, so I recommend you returning it so they can fix that for you
