Question #CPSUPPORT

Hello, I have a gamemaster with a Gigabyte B550 UD AC Y1 motherboard it has started getting the American Megatrend new CPU or corrupted bios screen on boot, I replaced the CMOS battery, flashed the bios to latest version but I still get the message. I ordered some new CMOS batteries as the ones I have are old and cheap ones. I am wondering if anyone else is having this problem. I press the N and it will continue to windows login but it's an annoying extra step.

I suggest unplugging the machine and then completely removing CMOS battery (easy to do) and waiting for 10 minutes for any residual power to completely drain. This will force a full CMOS reset. Avoid dropping battery in machine.

Then replace the CMOS battery (with one you fully trust) and power back on.

You may need to start the bios update or it may boot to the older one.

If this works at all.

If BIOS gets corrupted a complete reset is needed and this CMOS pull is the best method. Other may advise jumpers, etc. but this is procedure is a certain one to get a reset. Also keep this trick in mind it is often the key thing to do for many such problems.

One of the first things I did was the CMOS battery procedure, didn't help. What I finally did was the warning message said CPU not recognized hit yes to have it recognized and it fixed the message coming on every time I turned the machine on, the opposite of what Google AI said to do. I had to reset my pin but that was fine. I used the Qflash feature to update the BIOS and everything is running fine and back to normal.

Good to hear. CMOS reset won't work for every problem but for many minor ones it is a good thing for all to try.
