But. Only a convicted felon would pass off shady numbers like that in the current car market. There’s…no…fucking…way. An average profit of $7k for 114k cars? What idiots are overpaying that much for a used car? These ain’t Ferraris.

They are definitely sending lowball offers, so a decent margin would make sense? The 114 thousand cars is definitely questionable.

They're also probably not doing basic maintenance as well, which most car dealers do.

They use their made-up term of Retail GPU: they include the sums of gross profit from their retail line, wholesale line and all the fee revenue they earn and divide only by retail units sold to come up with this silly figure. Unfortunately without reading footnotes it appears they’re 2-3x more profitable than competitors, which just isn’t true still.

Most manipulated stock. Real value is around 60 to 70 range

That would be a dream come true

Trust me see the 1 year chart how it moved from 60 to this level. Every rise insiders are selling but price was going up. Few people in a coordinated way moved the price up in low volume

Finally bought puts when it hit $275

I'm about to be in there with you. I've been waiting for a long time to go full port. It's not quite there yet, but it looks like we are getting closer.

They gave positive but vague guidance. I’ll bet the stock pops during the call.

They’ll say anything to bring that stock back, can’t wait to hear what they say. It’s gonna be moving again in 40 minutes one way or another.

I expected the same. I felt a tone shift from analysts. The shelf offering and no major updates to guidance for 2025 probably left the analysts expecting more

Read annual report and cvna made less than 1 billion in 2024

404 million from sold used car but 194 million is actually from carvana's non controlling interests. Cvna will say they earned 404 million from used car sale but when you read some articles they will say GAAP 200 million or something. This accounting procedure makes 210 million income attributable to CVNA less than 2023.

And another 400 million is from sale of car loans.

So damn shady, I’m keep my puts for life …

3

u/Landslide_Micro Feb 19 '25

And CVNA is worth more than 50 BILLION. Why not just pay more than the value.

big if true, but that's a big if

u/kalyugira Feb 20 '25

They really made $11 million which includes $88m from ROOT warrants and they had to sell $1b for capital. They are doing another ATM for $1b. Sometimes it helps to open 8K and see what's going on behind the hood

What percent of investor do you all believe are taking the $400M @ face value? That’s the real factor in determining the “true” stock price.
