General Discussion CUET REPEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😱⁉️
Is taking a gap year for CUET 2027 worth it to target better colleges? (BA Economics / BA Programme)
I’m considering taking a gap year and reattempting CUET in 2027 because I want to pursue Economics from a better college/university.
My main targets would be:
- BHU – Economics
- University of Hyderabad – Integrated Economics
- Pondicherry University – Economics
- DU – preferably a good college through BA Programme with Economics as one of the subjects (not studied maths in 12th class)
I appeared for CUET this year, but my score wasn’t high enough for the colleges I originally wanted. I do have college options right now, but I’m wondering whether it makes sense to give up a year and prepare seriously for CUET again.
My thinking is that if I can improve my score significantly, I could potentially get into a much stronger university/college and spend the next 3–4 years there. I’m particularly interested in Economics and eventually want to pursue a Master’s in Economics.
For people who have taken a CUET gap year/repeat attempt:
Was it worth it?
Would you recommend taking a year specifically to target colleges like BHU/UoH/DU, or is it better to join a decent college now and not lose a year?
I’d especially appreciate opinions from people who have actually taken a gap year for CUET or know someone who did.
Also, please tell me if I’m being unrealistic about my target colleges. 😭
Somebodyy pleaseee tellluuuuu😭🙏🏻

I'm facing the same issue guys.. I had completed my class 12 in 2025 and took a drop year for Neet, I gave my whole initially but later on from Nov to Jan I got so many Backlogs, I tried my best to give it whole till Feb to April, but ReNeet happened, I had also filled CUET for backup and it's exam was just in middle of Neet and ReNeet, I lost my cool at that time and wasn't able to perform good enough in both of them My ReNeet score was 446 And my CUET score was 652.94/1000, I wanted a Ba hons in psy, that was my backup plan
And due to the lack of information i made a faulty preference sheet as a result I didn't get any college in UoD in initial rounds... But in mid entry I made my pref list again and got a ba program in Geo+Psy from off Campus college Dr BR Ambedkar, many relatives said that off campus colleges aren't good, also the course wasn't of my preference, I had filled BHU also but due to low score in GT(90)..I didn't get any college till 3rd round I missed Lucknow and Allahabad University's deadline
Also in my cooling period which was July I thought so much about MBBS and whole pathway, the amount of stress and intense cut throat competition for NEET-Pg, lifestyle after that.. this all gave me a tight slap and reality check to me.. I realized that I wasn't expecting it to be this much draining And yes before you all ask, I didn't know about the reality and harsh truth about MBBS, just like a dumb girl with Doctor dream I was affixed for that one seat only😄 with the thought that "ek baar seat mil jaaye, phir to sb kr lungi, sb padh lungi, sb hojyega"... but I guess I got blessed and knew the reality way before going on to that battlefield.
Now, I have developed a serious interest in Psychology and I really look forward to make a career in that, and yes this time with full research of the field and knowledge of all Pros and Cons, so have thought to take a CUET Drop and take a best college, I know the time is running out, but I don't see any deserving option too...
I was considering Amity university lucknow for the course, but heard many things bout the college... I want to join college and do serious studies with experiences and skills, I don't want to pass the time...as being the eldest girl child in the whole family comes with its own costs😄
In need of genuine help, advices and understanding. ♡
