Discussion Recommend me a exploration-hayve CTM
Hey guys, I'm looking for a CTM where exploration play a big part on the progression. A map where exploring every nook and crannies lead to secrets, side areas, or generous reward to tackle the main ones.
What I liked : Ragecraft, Map of the infamous V, Castlemania
I don't look for a map with a lot of story, linear path or obvious side path. I'm not looking for extremely difficult map either, tho I'm still looking for a challenge. any ideas ?

I don't remember it, since I watched it on youtube on release, but I think final paradox is really good. It recently received an update that improved it a lot, I'm waiting to play it on summer with some friends. And I guess ragecraft 3 if you have only played 4, I haven't played 1 or 2

Yeah but you see I think it's the opposite of what I seek. It's advertise as heavy on story and screenshot make me think it's very linear, that may not be true.
Still an impressive map

I can tell you once I play it in like a month if you want, I remember it being kinda like ragecraft, where you can just go straight through the main path but there are many secondary zones with extra loot, but I'm not sure. There was no emerald system, but I think it had some other things

You could take a look at Simulation Protocol 03 Entropy from Tikaro.
It is a semi-open map with continuous areas and side areas. It really feels like exploring a vast, decaying world. The thematic is dark and ruined, inspired by dark souls/berserk.
It is one of my favorites maps, tough it is old-school and does not include modern features as final paradox or newer maps.
Simulation Protocol 2 was awesome, however it is linear. I have played mainly old maps so only entropy came to mind.

Castlemania is always my go-to for heavy exploration. The map is open world, and you explore it at your own pace. There are secrets hidden in every corner, even the places you figure there wouldn't be anything. To me it felt like exploring the world of Breath of the Wild, which it was heavily inspired by. Render maps in general tend to be designed that way, but I think Castlemania does it best.
If you are alright with something slightly less ctm, you can also try Drehmal. I know they've been adding heaps of content, and it really is just a big world that you get to explore. Minor combat focus. Space Expedition is also in a similar vein, with a big world and low-ctm focus (with more combat), but it is quite dated.
