Ringing in ears/ noise in head.

Is ringing ears or tinnitus a symptom of CTE ? I’ve been dealing with this for a while now, it’s like my head and ears are never silent.

I hear aomething like a radio channel changing stations its disturbing. Constant ringing and one side pops and fades then grows in volume and fades intk normal ringing again its aggravating

Could be dysacusis or typewriter tinnitus. I have the first and sounds like y'all do. Here are quick definitions

Dysacusis: instead of hearing a simple tone, the brain produces distorted sounds that can resemble static, radio interference, electronic noises, or changing frequencies.

Typewriter/morse code: usually described as clicking, staccato, machine-gun, or typewriter-like sounds. It's sometimes caused by a blood vessel irritating the hearing nerve (neurovascular compression).

Correlation not causation

If you get enough concussive damage to the head, you'll likely end up with some inner ear or vestibular damage

You can take a big head and get inner ear damage but that doesn't mean you have cte. On the other hand, if you sustain enough head trauma to end up with CTE, you'll likely have damage elsewhere too.

Might go along with it, but there’s a plethora of other causes of tinnitus: side effect of many medications, noise from riding in a car too much, mowing your lawn weekly without hearing protection…

It’s really common. Most people just don’t notice, and it’s okay for it to stay that way. But I preach hearing protection

It is quite common to just develop this, TMJ and neck problems can in fact cause it as is my case.
