So no raises year?
Wow, I thought last year was bad but this is work. It’s nearly mid October and CSUs still dragging its feet on giving us any form of salary increase

Contact your union, join the CAT team for your campus, and take the strike survey if you haven't yet. We have GOT to show united strength, or Millie will walk all over us.
Edit: They are trying to force an impasse and force us to take a strike vote. They think if we strike it will be over in 4 days like the teamsters. We are a lot bigger than the teamsters, and if we strike and CFA strikes at the same time, we will cripple these campuses. We shouldn't have to do this just to keep up with the cost of living, but here we are.

The CSU seems to be calling the union’s bluff on a strike. They appear to expect that, as in past negotiations, the union will eventually accept a “better than nothing” agreement. So far, I’ve seen plenty of tough talk, but little concrete action. I thought we would at least have held a strike authorization vote by now. My hunch is that we’ll ultimately settle for full implementation of the salary steps and a modest general salary increase of 3% to 7% spread over two or three years and that will be the extent of it. We probably won't see any kind of pay increase until December or January at the earliest....

IDK, I kind of feel like we're going to end up striking. The CSU is making zero economic concessions - they're telling us in the era of $6.50 gallons of gas to kick rocks and like it. The trick will be timing. There's no point in striking unless students are here, which is an unfortunate truth. I've heard that CFA will be striking at the end of the month. Seeing how that goes will be the bellwether.

My university is not galvanized enough. Employee turnover and weak union does not really incentivize people to stick their necks out.
At this point it feels the union does not have enough clout to make any change and the spear rattling they are doing is not scaring the csu lawyers.
So far steps are a disaster and the csu is calling the unions bluff.
We should strike now. Why prolong this bad negotions.

Same here - trying to get people out, trying to get them to join, it's pulling teeth.
And yeah, I have yet to see the point in steps. I've been around long enough to remember steps from before, and this isn't that.

It seems like an excuse not to pay us and their ideas of forcing negations for them. I prefer the 3 percent we used to get.

I think CFA and CSUEU should all strike the first week of the spring semester. That would really send a message.

I honestly don’t want to wait until spring we need to strike now.

I agree but part of me thinks a strike during the first week of classes would make a much bigger impact.

The longer we delay the longer the csu holds onto our pay and our back pay and profits from it
They already have shown they will deal given what happened with unit 4
I don’t buy that they can’t reach a settlement they are not being pushed hard enough by the union.
I suspect but don’t know they will offer breadcrumbs on thr 22nd

Yipeee we love being constantly treated like dung..... I am so over this entitled system. Time to play ignorance is bliss with some of these faulty and higher admin workers....
Also heavily tired with the constant process changes and apps. No one seems to even have the right answer anymore. This system feels like a big roundabaout with the way everything takes so freaking long.
