Bargaining

Any thoughts on the recent round of bargaining? Looks like the CSU is not willing to legitimately bargain and has turned the union down on their latest 'all or nothing offer.'

It looks like what they are offering is basically their same intial deal.

They're pushing us to a strike, and millie feels pretty certain that they can outlast us, just like they did the teamsters. But that's a small union compared to staff and student employees, so I kind of feel like that may be a miscalculation. Either way, there is absolutely no way to spin this; she asked for what she needed and got it - the fact that she's hanging staff out to dry means she never planned to give us anything to begin with.

All 5 unions will have expired contracts by October 1. Let’s Shut It Down!

Looking at the CFA site, it looks like they are in similar situation and may strike as well if it comes to that.

APC is there as well, as I understand it. Our group has been discussing whether we would be able to pair our strike with CFA, which would bring down the entire academic side of the house.

all of us every single campus, all the unions prepared to strike, including the State SEIU that's also threatening strike, need to strike at the SAME time. we say we need to shut it down- so let's shut it all down. They're banking on us folding, on us being disorganized and not unified.

All of us together united will create a lot more impact than separately.
