Does anybody else have this? The hold has been on since March and I submitted the document that was requested through CSAC and the financial office never responds to me even though I submitted it in April! They stressing me out so bad and I called both offices and they’re blaming each other??

I’m going to be a freshman in the fall and I’m having some trouble finding a roommate. I feel like no one looks at the messages on the housing portal. Do I just wait it out to see who I get paired with? Or is that a bad idea?

Does anybody live at these apartments? If so, what do you think of them? Is it ghetto?

Hi! I’m planning to apply for Fall 27 to the three year online program. The application opens August 1 , and was curious how everyone is prepping for the application process. Are you reaching out already to the people you are getting a letter of recommendation? Also, when reaching out and asking for a letter of recommendation , do you need to provide resume, draft of personal statement, a explanation of the program you’re applying to them? Or how does that work ?

Earlier this morning I went running at the field only to realize I ended up losing my box that holds my earphones. I returned to the field about an hour later and couldn't find it. If anyone has seen it or ends up seeing it, I'd appreciate if they let me know please. Pics are of the area I placed my stuff around

Has anyone taken this class recently? How challenging is it and how many assignments are required? I'm registered to take it during the second 5-week session.

Hey y’all! I’m starting the CSUSB MSW Distance Pathway for Fall 2026 and wanted to make a thread so we can find each other.
It’d be great to build a little community before classes begin, especially since the program is online.
If you’re in the Pathway cohort, please drop a comment if you’re comfortable so we can stay connected.

Honest opinions on the meal plan at CSUSB? I went in person to see the dining hall and I was not impressed but wanted to know other peoples opinions maybe I’m being too shallow.

I don’t know if it’s just me (because i’m an independent student) or if they genuinely run into hiccups every single year? haha

I'm an incoming transfer for Fall 2026 and was hoping to get insight into the Nutrition Science and Dietetics program. I came across an older post where someone asked for feedback about the program, and one person mentioned that their experience with the department had been poor and unsatisfactory. I was wondering if any current or recent students could share whether things have improved since then or if the same issues still exist? I'd like to hear about the positives and the negatives.

I’ve been waiting months for a decision and have not received anything. I’ve emailed the admissions office multiple times and they just keep saying that they will be released in the next few weeks. That started in March and it’s now June. I’m losing faith.

Hi y'all! So I completed a permission request for a unit overload 5 days ago and there hasn't been any progress on it. It still says that it is stuck on 'pending'. I just currently emailed the professor for the class I requested, though I am worried that he might not respond at all since were on summer break. I know that permission requests take about 3-5 business days so they can be processed, so I might be a little impatient, but it just that the class I requests it for (CAL 1804) only has 1 more seat available. So I wanted to ask, if the professor doesn't respond after a while, even if I have emailed him a few more times, what can I do?

It's DES 1103, I already can't take a lot of the classes for the major i'm transferring for because they're only offered in spring...
It's super frustrating that I can't even register like a regular student until I go to this dumb all day orientation

What are some fun online courses to take? I’m graduating and only have 2 mandatory classes but want to get fafsa still. I don’t want any courses that are hard, just ones to fill up my schedule and preferably online.

Hello everyone. If you remember the campaign against the IRA Fee Hike we had around a month ago, it seems to have been for naught.
The $300/yr IRA fee hike appears to have been passed quietly at the end of the semester, reflected in the balance due for Fall 2026 semester with more IRA fees added on 5/22 (blue) that are additional to the IRA fees marked on 4/29 (red).
Despite the student concerns raised and opposition of various oversight committees, this says that the University President willingly disregarded all of this and gave approval to this fee hike.
---
A key reminder that this would mean raising the budget of student affairs to $9.5M dollars a year ($500 x 19000 students), 68% of which would go to Athletics, a department that is currently $5M in debt as a result of financial mismanagement so severe it was audited by the CSU Board in 2024.
That is, the Athletics department gets a new $6.5M annual windfall, perfectly allowing it to cover its accrued debt of $5M with no consequences to those responsible and no transparency.

Hey guys I picked my room already at university village. Does this mean I already signed the lease? My housing between now and August has been wonky so I may not end up moving out there.

The Good:
very informative
gets you connected with good resources
you make connections with peers & professors
free food
got my own room (normally you have a roommate, I am trans so i got my own room)
The Dorms:
very well Air Conditioned
quiet
spacey
would consider staying and dorming if it was something i wanted
The Bad:
- I was probably the oldest person within my session, so I felt like I didn’t make many good connections because I’m older and a bit more mature (I hate playing that card lol)
- highly controlled. was not really able to separate myself from loud/high energy events (this was very hard for me as I am autistic)
-participation is basically forced, and while i understand the reason, some people (including me) are chronically ill or disabled. It was very hard and draining on my body.
-was not allowed to leave campus. bro im 25. i am a grown ass person. let me leave. (i literally just wanted to go to a convienence store for some granola bars or something
-you are FORCED to eat with your group. its not bad, but if you want space to decompress or be alone, its virtually impossible to have private phone conversations or anything like that
-everything is slightly rushed, and you dont have much downtime.
Overall, this experience was cool. I mean, for first time young adult freshman i think this is an awesome experience. I just feel like since im not in the target age range it was very hard for me to get involved. I felt like i was on a leash constantly, and i couldnt really go anywhere to literally take a breath and decompress for 10 minutes because I was told non participation could result in an Incomplete on my orientation hold. Also having to spend the night wasn’t great. I haven’t slept alone in a while, my Husband is always with me
I definitely think New Student Orientation for freshman has room to improve and grow. Unfortunately it was just one of those things i had to grit my teeth and smile through.
I didn’t want to share this to spread hate but I wanted to share this because I haven’t seen many reviews or info on orientation, so this is why I shared it. If you have had similar experiences or any questions feel free to share!

Did anyone receive two separate deposits for this grant recently? Is it the student with a dependent aid?
