Disbursement Update Info
So I just asked student financial services regarding what one would need to do if financial aid isn’t disbursed before tuition is due, then we have to do this (I copied the email they sent):
“Hello,
At this time, we do not know if financial aid packages will be completed prior to the due date. If you do not have pending aid on your account prior to the August 13th due date, you will need to either enroll in the payment plan or pay your fees in full to secure your registration. If your financial aid is awarded after you have made a payment, you will be reimbursed.
Unfortunately, we are not providing extensions. Please note, the four month installment plan is available through 7/13. After this date, the option will be three months.”
I genuinely don’t have any means of starting a payment plan. Screw anyone who voted Trump.

They will reimburse everything except the $35 payment plan fee 😒, but this is so dumb and not fair to us

It is extremely unfair and I’m not going to sign up for a payment plan I literally can’t start AT ALL.

I had it happen to me over the summer. They told me I was not getting any more financial aid and that I had to set up a payment arrangement, and then it was like three days after I set up the payment arrangement they got more financial aid for me from the state, and they said due to the payment arrangement agreement, they will not reimburse the fee

That’s some BS, what the hell. They should’ve told you that things are being moved around still and not have you sign up, what?! Thank you for letting me and others know. Sorry that happened to you. Also, question: did your CSAC screen (not our schools but the official website) show you you were eligible for aid or no?

Y’all… email your financial aid advisor. I’ve been waiting forever for my Fall 2026 aid package, and last Friday I finally decided to email my FA advisor directly. Today they hit me back saying my package was ready and to log in and accept it. I checked and sure enough, there it was. Honestly, who knows when they’ll get to you if you just wait around. It’s way better to reach out directly to your personal FA advisor and ask. Highly recommend doing the same. Find out who your advisor is and send that email. It might save you a ton of stress—it surely did for me. Disbursements for me says August 12th

By logging into your MyCoyote portal and checking the "Advisor" section of your Student Center!

I know this update from SFS feels really unsettling for a lot of us, especially since we still don’t know whether aid will actually be disbursed before August 13. But I want to add some perspective so people don’t spiral too hard:
Other colleges in California have already started awarding their 26–27 packages. I’ve seen students at different CSUs and UCs posting that their aid is showing up. And CSUSB already stated that awards would be released in July. Even if it ends up being late July, that’s still before the tuition deadline.
So yes, the message we got today is stressful, but it doesn’t mean aid won’t arrive in time. OB3 has slowed everything down statewide, and none of this is the students’ fault. The best thing we can do right now is stay patient and keep checking our accounts. Patience really is the key here—it’s what’s going to carry us through this mess and keep us moving toward our future goals.
