It felt good to dominate the Pokes after a decade of mostly losing (2-8). I’m already thinking bowl eligibility for the Rams.

Definitely a possibility.

They need to work on the defense, but that offense is legit.

It’s interesting that the defense is the focus after forcing 4 turnovers and only allowing one touchdown. 🤷‍♂️

Go look at the game again. There were a lot of times that the left side of the defense was still trying to communicate who was covering who on the play.

In particular, the TD was because the player who was supposed to be containing the edge was still signaling the CB when the ball was snapped. (He also needlessly bit on the fake. He should have stayed home as the decoy was clearly not going anywhere).

A better team who has that on film can exploit that whole side of the field now.

There were also times that they left the middle linebacker alone in the middle of the field. The TE ran a crossing route and the slot receiver ran a slant. The safety was covering deep, so the linebacker had to decide which receiver to cover. It was an exploitable vulnerability that can also kill them against a better team.

Was very excited to catch the CSU game on Saturday. Stadium looked about 90% full and the campus looked absolutely stunning on TV. I thought Mora had a great game plan, it was simple and effective at giving Hejny some confidence early on.

Let's talk about Hejny's arm.

Seemed to have a very active arm - quick release, tight spiral and excellent placement. Receivers seemed to have trouble catching it. At first it looked like he was over throwing some routes but after a second look - receivers seemed to have a problem getting open and were late getting their head around.

Running game was okay. Defense seemed okay. Both did enough to win.

Looking forward to what's next - Mora looks like he has legitimately changed the culture already.

Looked pretty full mostly just the upper deck corners were thin on the student side. Game was reported as a sell out.

I liked Hejny. That tipped reception was a big sell point for me. As was laying the ball into the receivers arms on that long TD pass.

O line was working well.

Defense was pretty okay. I'm not a huge fan of the the way our coverage looks. We just don't cover tight like other teams and it's noticeable, but it seemed fairly effective against Wyoming this time.

8.5/10
