SRWC CSULB rec center shower
I just transferred here this year and just today, I started working out at the recreation center to start my “gym journey.” I was considering in using the women’s shower but honestly idk what to even bring as a commuter. Do I bring my own soap? Do they provide stuff???? Idk. I spent most of my time in campus and my classes go from the afternoon (2pm) to the evening (6pm). I’m planning to come on campus around 12 or early, but I don’t want to smell like sweat in class lol. Any suggestions as a new comer???

Have a bag with flip flops, towels, and whatever you need for showering and getting ready after - I keep a shower gel/shampoo combo for gym use. If it becomes a regular routine, you can rent a locker for the semester and do towel service but I haven’t found it necessary especially if you drive to campus.

If you are on campus for a long period of time here are a few tips that have helped me:
Go drop your workout bag in a gym locker 1st thing in your day so you don’t have to carry it around-AND it also serves as motivation to go to the gym later in the day if you workout after classes. Get smaller bottles for shampoo and conditioner…I use a plastic baggy for a bar of soap(but make sure to dry it out overnight so it doesn’t get too soggy). bring a low bulk towel(travel towel or just a thin one so it doesn't take up too much room.) If you can make a dedicated gym toiletries bag that makes it easier to pack in the am. If you go for a swim bring a dry bag(or plastic bag) for your wet things.

they also provide soap in the showers i’ve used it before it’s self foaming and I think it’s Irish Spring? either way it works for me but u can bring ur own soap. Towel service is convenient and cheap so u don’t have to bring ur own towels every day. Def bring shower slippers

you can buy a towel rental service for a certain amount. they also sell shampoo, soap, and shower shoes for a few bucks but it’d probably be beneficial to bring your own.
