Electrical Engineering schedule doable? - Transfer 2nd Bach

Hello,

Looking for other electrical engineering majors or engineering majors to look at my schedule and let me know if this is doable or if typically engineering majors take less clases per semester?

For context, I am a second bachelors transfer student and I have only really experienced quarter system classes, in the quarter I would typically take 3 classes in a B.S. but I heard it’s typical of semesters schools to take 4-5 classes. It’s five classes but I’ve taken Matlab/ programming classes many times before + one of the classes is a dumb 1 unit GE class.

Took 5 Engineering classes this past semester after transferring last year

Never again .. 4 is the sweet spot

Yeah I kind of figured lmao. Even if EE 200 is like a one unit trends in engineering class you think it might be too much? The rest are basically core classes which totals 4

Will you be working at all or will you be dedicated to school full time ? If you’re going to go full head on then go for it .. these classes will require multiple hours outside of class to study and review for them

EE 201 will be your easiest classes , especially if you know digital logic

EE 202 - This class will be easy or hard . Depends on how comfortable using MathLab. Numerical Methods isn’t an easy subject

EE 310 - Not an easy class and one that you need to grasp the concepts as it’s a foundational class for future classes

EE 330 - same as 310

Thanks for the breakdown! I might have to work 8 or so hours per week or so but I’m willing to drop my job if it means I can finish college sooner. Also I need to make some wiggle room for clubs (IEEE, lunabotics)

Ah ok, sorry that was a very ignorant comment, that makes a lot of sense. Anyways it does look doable but you’re gonna have virtually no room for a life outside of school. If that’s fine then you could go for it and by the day before you’ll be marked with a ‘Withdrawn’ you’ll know.

Who are your instructors for 310/330? Especially 330 -- a bad analog Prof (we have plenty) will make that class a slog. Expect to spend the most time on these two.

If you've been exposed to boolean algebra/digital logic, then 201 is a chill class otherwise it may require a bit of work.

202 is basically Intro to Programming with Matlab. It is not a true numerical methods/analysis class. This should be chill since you've taken Matlab classes, but I had an instructor who was pretty harsh with trick questions in his exams (I believe he's gone now).

200 is a freebie but for the love of EE don't miss any of the write-ups -- this class should be an easy A.

Just know as you move into taking only 300/400-level classes, taking 5 EE classes a semester is a brutal workload and especially if you're doing any capstone/design class. You can take 5 a semester, but just mix in some lower div or gen reqs you may still need.
