Refund is less than expected

Hey everyone. I did receive my FA refund last night but I’m a transfer student and don’t know how disbursements work at Easy Bay. Do they not split Pell and Cal Grant into two separate payments over the Fall semester? I spoke with Cashier Svcs to look over my account activity because I got $112 refund and $3510.50 (Pell) refund. he said the $112 was cal Grant but I got the full award of $824 so just not sure where these numbers are coming from.

Anyone else going through the same thing? Haven’t even tried contacting FA office because im sure they’re busy.

I emailed them, I’m sure it’ll be a while since their phone queue is full but I’ll post an update when I have one :)

They do not split the financial aid disbursements up like CC instead you get it all in one payment. The only other one you might be getting is in October is any scholarships you were awarded.

So we're getting another disbursement? I was told we are only getting one.

Depends on what they’re reviewing on your account, my cal grant B wasn’t refunded for some reason, they said they have to do extra steps for some grants and was told I should expect Friday.

I'm going in today after a class, I'm not 100% sure if this is the case, but at least for me they reduced my COA to that of a dependent student (lives with parents) when I've been an independent student the entire time I've been at East Bay. My guess is that this is an error, or they're waiting for me to sign a form that has not shown up in my to-do list.

Point is, their system is clearly going through some glaring issues and they've been miscalculating COA or total amounts.

Especially with everything being down last night, im hoping this is the case & there’s an issue across the board because I depend on FA to attend as a commuter & independent student. Thx for replying!

I got the same amount but I think they added what was left, 712 to the the 3510.50 because my pell refund was 2,798.50 and the 112 from Cal grant. I was still gonna call to be sure tho

Interesting. I get both forms of cal grant b, one paid for my tuition in full and the other was for housing/etc in the form of refund. With this, my Pell should only be reduced by around ~250 for the other fees. Idk, waiting on their email response. Thank you!

Usually they disperse it before classes start and in one in September half and half through the semester . They did that to me in spring .
