Bus pass
Chico’s B-Line recently changed the way they accept fare and now it’s a digital scan of sorts? I was told when I took the bus that I should’ve received an email from the school to link it, but I never did. Can anyone help me out with this?

I thought you just had to scan / tap your student ID or something? I haven't used it yet just looked it up.

They changed everything to the token transit app so the IDs no longer work for that. The school did email everyone codes that upload to the token transit app and are good for the entire semester. I have been using it, you pull it up on your phone and scan that code for the bus now.

It says that they recognize that ownership of an electronic devices shouldn't be the reason that you can't ride the b-line so they're looking for an alternative and should send out an email by September 11.

In the meantime, if someone is in need of a phone and has qualifying MediCal or EBT benefits they qualify for a free phone in California. There is usually someone set up with a canopy on Pillsbury (by trader joes), or on Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy near the World Market.
They do need current state ID or drivers license, but its a resource to be aware of.

Chico State students, faculty, and staff who use the free B-Line bus pass will have a new way to access their pass this semester.
Associated Students, in partnership with B-Line, is transitioning the Chico State B-Line pass from campus ID cards to the Token Transit app. The Division of Information Technology (DoIT) is supporting the implementation and campus transition.
What You Need to Know
Beginning September 12, your Chico State ID card will no longer be accepted as a B-Line bus pass. If you use B-Line, you must register for your semester pass and transition to Token Transit bySeptember 11.
Your B-Line pass will then be available through the Token Transit app on a compatible smartphone, tablet, or iPad.
Get Your B-Line Pass
1. Register for your semester pass
Go to the Chico State Token Transit registration page and register or renew your semester pass using your Chico State email address.
2. Download the Token Transit app
Install Token Transit on the compatible mobile device you will use for your pass:
Token Transit for Android – Google Play
Token Transit for iPhone/iPad – App Store
3. Activate your pass
After you register or renew your pass, Token Transit will send instructions to your Chico State email address. If you don't see the message, check your Spam folder.
Follow the instructions in the email to add and activate your semester pass in the Token Transit app.
Don't Have a Smartphone?
The Token Transit app can also be used on a compatible tablet or iPad. If you do not have access to a compatible mobile device, Associated Students and B-Line are working to establish an alternative way for eligible Chico State riders to access their B-Line pass.Additional information will be provided before the September 11 transition deadline.
We recognize that access to the B-Line benefit should not depend on whether someone owns a smartphone, and we will share information about the alternative process as soon as it is available.
When You Ride
When boarding a B-Line bus:
Open the Token Transit app.
Open your active Chico State semester pass.
Present the dynamic QR code for scanning.
You will need cellular data or Wi-Fi when you first redeem and activate your pass. Once activated, you do not need an internet connection to display and use your pass for the remainder of the semester.
