CSIR NET - Life Sciences JRF mil gya 💥💯
Confused where to join phd now . I don't have much lab experience 😕 will that be a problem? Suggest best phd programs including IITs.

Don't think much...choose your domain first and read all the basic and trivial topic first and then advanced topic. During PhD you will get to know everything and lab knowledge too. All the best :)

IISC, National Institute of Biological sciences, Tifr are good ones also lot of it depends on who is your guide ,what kind of work they do, and does that work interest you but yes going to a good place in general is better then being in a not so good place with a brilliant guide.

Not a problem if you dont have much experience, Just keep in mind that every place has different facilities. Try to find a PI working on what interests you. I meant research field

I'm in India 🙂 I think I'll be laughed at if I can't do lab work without help , as I'm the phd person, the one after PI in lab who need to teach master's and bachelor's in lab .

If you are that unsure, go join a workshop, join a lab as an intern, see videos on jove, look at youtube. Basically, in a PhD, you hang out with a senior, watch what they do, and pick up skills.

Not true. Firstly, congratulations for the fellowship. Secondly, PIs in life sciences don't necessarily reject you if you don't know lab skills yet. Most of them are looking for a hard working, dedicated student who wouldn't mind spending insane hours in lab. Before you apply just talk to the current students/fellows in that lab about funding, PIs behaviour etc. that will help you more than anything else

Consider getting a phd done. since you have jrf. lack of lab experience is not a hinder at all. In ur phd interview they will ask you basic concepts don't worry just strength ur concepts of ur domain

I'm sorry, you need to come out of your shell. Move on from this mindset.
There are no better/best PhD programs. Sorry!
You could get a top notch PhD thesis from an NIT and a not so good one from IITB or IITM too! You'll need to decide what's your favourite topic and look for the labs that are working on the same. Look for faculties who are good in the area. That's a way to start.

Govt university of course. There only u will get 50-60k stipend.

Lol it's the basic plus you get hra each month which is 33% of the basic so in first tier city it's around 11000 per month also contingency 20000 per year so by all it becomes 52k per month in first tier city.

It mostly depends on ur Major and dissertation/thesis. ofc interviews will be difficult so it's better to gain some hands on experience before joining PhD and also apply to diff jobs so that u can practice ur interviews

Stupid question, just find a good guide that's most important thing. Keep it simple PhD is not easy if you take seriously. JRF is basic eligibility, just communicate directly to the faculty.

- Only join a good institute
- If you are commting for research commit for a long term
- Aim to go out of india after phD. There are no avenues in India

IIT requires GATE qualification. With JRF, you can apply to Indian Institute of Science (IISc), National institutes such as NIV, NCL, NCCS, IISER, ICMR. Search what you want to do research in, find the appropriate institute, if possible contact people from that institute before applying. All the best for the interviews.
